2 words WOLF SADDLES you can ride it and your other wolfs follow it like a pack, i can just imagine the giant packs of 10-15 wolves running through the forest with their wolf leader riding in front, ravaging and taking over any and all territories they desire. [editline]9001[/editline] and it would be faster than walking.

raising them would be cool. like a minecraft-tamagotchi! but im certainly gonna get a reskin.
I dunno why everyone wants to over-complicate the Wolves. I think its fine how it is- Bone=Tamed wolf. Maybe add a collar. But we don't need complicated taming or stats or anything like that. MAYBE the ability to dye them.
there should be an option to breed with it and create half-wolf half-humans (no not really)

It's a friendly mob which follows you around, and attacks enemies on command. Where's the fun in that?
am I the only one thinking of making a massive pool of tamed wolves in which to torture mobs with?
You may have to feed it and I'm pretty sure if you watch the video he was right clicking on it with his hand to make it sit/stay. Add the ability to dye them or natural color variety and maybe names and they're fine. They don't need to be overly complicated.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03/07/notch-reveals-plans-for-after-minecraft/
Nothing in that article even IMPLIES that he will stop development after 2011. They won't even finish development until after 2011.

Is this official?
Nothing in that article even IMPLIES that he will stop development after 2011.
With the blocky phenomenon intended to be finished by the end of 2011
I guess this could be interpreted either way, I saw it as he'll release Minecraft officially and work on Scrolls full time.
I'm confused, doesn't this imply development is ending? I guess this could be interpreted either way, I saw it as he'll release Minecraft officially and work on Scrolls full time.
by today's standards, "finished" doesn't mean "complete" with games (read: DLC)
by today's standards, "finished" doesn't mean "complete" with games
Case in Point:
I'm confused, doesn't this imply development is ending? Some will be free some may be paid for. All will be free for people who have alpha accounts.
It's not a very interesting game at the moment though. Its a game which you destroy blocks and place them again. Where's the fun in that?
Ok then, maybe I should have said where's the utility in that.
Oh god, I can predict it. ACHIEVEMENT SERVERS EVERYWHERE Please don't make this like TF2, Notch.
I'm kinda sad to see it's so easy to get a pet. I'd should be like really fucking hard to get a pet. Makes it more rewarding and "exclusive" at the same time. If dungeons would be fucking everywhere they would be boring as fuck if you know what I mean.
I'm fairly sure the video is a testing build where the tame requirements have been lowered a lot and the spawn rate has been jacked up to ridiculous levels.
Oh god, I can predict it. ACHIEVEMENT SERVERS EVERYWHERE Please don't make this like TF2, Notch.
That would only happen if the achievements unlocked anything.
Case in Point: [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/59/TF2_Group.jpg[/img_thumb]
Why are they all holding weapons? Where are all the hats? Also they better work on modding support next. Once mods can be made and installed easily and with official support the community can basically work on the game themselves, like with Garry's Mod.

"xd haha nubs aint got no green badges 111!!!!!!"
It's a good fucking thing Jebs is on that team or I feel Minecraft wouldn't last too much longer due to the way Notch behaves. And to be honest, while Notch is good with some ideas and his base of Minecraft is still awesome, Jebs makes him look like shit. Notch's coding has been dull and less than average after he got Minecraft where he wanted. Now that Jeb has taken over, it looks like things have a more unique feel. You know what I mean?
Wolves should have the same spawnrate as diamonds or gold, and have a slightly different finish depending on the biome they spawn in. They should attack players/mobs provided that the player/mob attacks first. Giving a bone to a wolf will make it follow you for ten minutes, and crafting a tag of gold and string and placing it on a wolf makes it follow you permanently and allows you to command it, rather than having the wolf attack hostile mobs randomly, most likely getting killed. They should be dyeable, like sheep, but rather than having e.g. Pink wolves, you get wolves with a pink "tan"
Here's some things I would like: -Wolves are neutral like pigmen(If you attack one wolf they all will attack you) -They sometimes randomly attack a passive mob. -You can color their collar so you can vary them. -A whistle(to make it you need gold ingots.[because gold is pretty useless right now]) - change your wolves behaviour(agressive, defensive, passive) -heal them by giving them raw meat or fish -they should be rare and howl at the full moon at midnight(which will also help finding them) -even rarer wolf types. Like big black wolves with red eyes that are stronger(and cool looking too) and you need to give them more bones. I think wolfs shouldn't spawn in snow or desert biomes. Actually i hope that's somthing that gets added in at some point, certain types of animals can only be found in certain biomes. Like maybe little scorpions in the deserts, and polar bears in the snow.

My IRL name is Jens :v: (I'm not implying that I'm Jeb.) And I'm glad that they got such a fine gentlemen working on stuff for Minecraft.
This could make PvP terrifying. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] What Minecraft devs do, Jens: "I'm making an awesome game changing mob! These things will kick ASS!" Notch: "I made a blocks-destroyed counter :downs:"
I was actually wondering about the pvp thing, I hope it won't sick them on a friend until he dies just because he walked in front of my pickaxe AGAIN
