Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (XBOX360, PS3, PC) v5- Prepare to Cry

pvping as havel is actually hilariously fun im surprised
sure you can't parry and you're slow as shit but every hit you land is a hard one
I wonder, at what soul level do people start pvp? I am at 38 now, doing Sen's Funhouse. I aim to upgrade my Greataxe to +15 in Anor Londo (or should i use Greatsword?) right now. I love it so far (dual-hand wielding it).
People PVP everywhere all the time.
Greatsword is arguably better than the axe, but they're both fine. You'll probably get your shit handed to you, but that's how heavy weapon pvp works.
When I'm leveling chars I make sure to do some PvP in every area I go through, of course that means I'm duplicating cracked red eye orbs but who cares
protip: your level usually doesn't matter for if you should be in an area or not rather than how upgraded your weapon and armor are
this is why sl1 runs are a feasible thing that people do
Late but. SL does matter. I play on PS3, and the higher level you are the less people you will meet online.
That's why i don't want to go much further.

i sort of had the opposite in mind (am i too low level to be here?????) but yeah if you're level 700 you can expect not to get very many invasions
It's a shame gravelording only works properly in NG+
has moonlight butterfly ever killed anyone before?
seriously though i think dying to it needs to be an achievement because i think i would have still beaten it without the beatrice summon
I died to the moonlight butterfly a lot of my first playthrough. I ended up going back and buying firebombs from the undead merchant to kill it.
I didn't know there was an NPC summon there...
Oh my fucking god. I keep getting to try and killi Smough and Fatty with someone who just won't get that you don't need to clear the area before fog gate, and ends up with little estus. He even keeps killing the archer...
Great, he summoned me again, and this time rushed to fog gate, but the damned sunbro just couldn't fucking go, and instead left us, to kill those mobs. While i understand that this may be host's first play, why do summons play so terrible sometimes.
So I was invading in Anor Londo yesterday and everytime gankers popped up I just ran to the elevator thing and turned it, forcing them to go all the way back through the rafters - by which point I'd already have run to the dragon archers and got into position. Was fun.
Might go for a character build or a high strength build, sorcery doesn't seem much fun now
It's a shame gravelording only works properly in NG+
They should have made gravelording work in NG, just have the black phantom enemies not be any stronger than normal ones.
Might go for a character build or a high strength build, sorcery doesn't seem much fun now
I dislike sorcery. I prefer pyromancy, the range isn't as huge as sorcery, and damage can be fair too, and it doesn't require me to load points into int/faith. Aaand it took me around 2 days of blighttown runs to get all pyromancies and flame fully ascended. Fun.
Should I make an elemental shotel if I'm running a strength build? I don't feel like I'll benefit enough from its scaling damage wise.
fuck this game omg
my character is so fucking slow he cant even react fast enough to save his own god damn life

Don't wear heavy armor. I am playing as pyromancer/axeuser right now. I use the starter armor for pyromancer, that has like no poise, and Greataxe. With havel's ring i have under 25% of my load, and can roll really fast. Also i use Dark Wood Grain ring, so i can be even faster. This combination is great, unless you get ganged, because i don't use shields. But that's why i have my pyromancies.

Because I can.
Is there noone at Anor Londo at SL 46?

I have heavy armor and a halberd
I can handle the game just fine its these fucking BELL GARGOYLES
that literally give me no chance to react at all while fucking me over
Because I can.
Why would you put points into strength at all if you plan on using a dex weapon?

I have a couple builds around level 40-55 for invasion purposes. Need a summon?

Bell Gargoyles are a cunt when you first start playing but dont worry it gets worse :)
Go human and summon Solaire before the boss fight, if you're using heavy armor make sure you have high stamina or you'll be rolling slow as fuck, which isn't too bad for this boss fight as it'll help you tank them but still.
You just need to manuever around them until they open themselves up and with a halbred you can't have too many problems.

SL46 is a prime level for Anor Londo
you might just be on a low populated server

If anything, i'd love to be summoned. I love farming souls by killing bosses with players.

Are O&S still alive in your world/are you human?
[sp]totally not scheming to invade, nope, not scheming at all[/sp]

Secondary weapon?
Shotel on a strength build is hilarious because a lot of people will try to rush you knowing that you have a slow weapon. If you pull out a +5 Lightning Shotel once they are in range you can just fuck them up and try to get a backstab with your main weapon. Also helps against turtles with the whole strong attack thing.
