Yeah, they do. Roll through it and they're boned.
Doesn't help when your last invader to use dark magic was from Chile and jumping all over the place
So learn to adapt. If they put 30 points into INT or whatever it is, once they use up everything they're at a massive disadvantage.

Just made some guy lose 160,000 souls
Defeated Artorias for the first time. Beat him on my first try. A bit underwhelming, honestly.
I could see the fight being extremely easy if tanked.
Do people enter the arena at a much lower SL or something? I was SL78 at the time.

nobody seems to use the arena
also going light makes artorias easier than tanking

I tried blocking a couple times with the Black Iron Greatshield +14 which I had equipped for the fight just in case, his hits drained barely any stamina.

Oh, by arena I meant Artorias' arena, not the MP one.
I got to the BKs and next up is Gwyn I think, as I want to get the plat trophy would this be a good time to farm up what I can? I don't own the DLC and I'm assuming NG+ will get much harder.
For a DEX build which is better, BSS or katana's. Also should I go with faith, int, or just put the points into other things like vitality, endurance and 45 dexterity for pyromancy?

Try dxtory with lagarith codec. If you still lag it may just be your hardware.
I can't get Dxtory to work at all with Dark Souls (even with Lagarith). And my hardware is pretty damn good, and no other bosses get slowdowns.

Also, why no black sorceries? They're so much better it's not even funny.
Also your level might be a tad high, my Dukes build is level 55 and it's fine there...then again, I'm a darkwraith so I invade up.
