Don't purchase that flask on morde because the mana regen is a waste. You're much better 9-10 health pots for roughly the same price until you get more AP or spell vamp.

Thanks! Ill try that. Only fairly new at playing rumble. Not sure what to build so that helps a buttload.
The same case goes for any top champion. Ranged champions will until level 6 at which point the bruiser just all ins and shits all over them over and over again. It can work versus some champions though.

Cutlass+Doran's blade costs 1475 gold provided you started long sword 2 pots and gives you the following stats:
35 AD
100 Health
15%+5 on hit lifesteal
An active that slows and deals damage.
Compared to rushing an IE which gives (provided you buy a B.F. Sword for 1550):
45 AD
Also, it costs 950 gold less, doesn't screw over your laning phase unless you're far ahead, gives you a good utility active, gives you sustain.
Bloodthirster is still better for AD carries that rely on AD Scaling (think Ezreal). But there is no reason to rush an IE when you can get it second and have a great item before that. BotRK also let's you handle bruisers better with the active and gives you 40% AS which is the same as a Statikk Shiv. You're only countered by AS% reduction. So unless the enemy team is stacking that, BotRK will be better than an IE.
EDIT: I forgot about Mres, but that's pretty hard to itemize for making it less of a bother; but yes, magic resist can be a pain versus you... But then you're building magic resist versus an AD Carry who's about to pick up a LW/IE meaning you're screwed either way.
Infinity Edge gives you a total of 70 AD, as well as +25% critical strike chance and +50% critical damage, not just 45 AD (after upgraded BF).
Buying said item early greatly increases your damage output, and in the case of a Critical Strike, is some pretty nasty burst when rushed.

Yes. If you ignore the fact that you're going to be laning. Compare the two stats i gave above and figure out what's better in lane. Also, as i said, it's 950 gold cheaper. If you're going for sustain in a lane with an IE you can be as far as TWO THOUSAND gold behind compared to someone who built a BotRK as i posted above, we're talking a full Statikk Shiv here.
You have to be very careful as any poke, any ganks, any passive damage sticks on to you VERY hard with an IE rush, compared to rushing a BotRK. 15% life steal is not a small amount. And when the enemy is chunking you for 8 damage less, while healing for far more than the difference, you're in for a really rough time.
If you're in a 2v1 lane and got something like a first blood double kill you can get away with rushing a B.F. Sword. But more often than not you're just going to die because you have no survivability or sustain meaning the other laner is going to go to town on you.
That being said, there's no denying IE does more damage. That's also why it costs so much more.
