Reason being that it's ONLY used for clears. Yes the slow helps but you still get the slow/damage at level 1. Being able to Q into lane to gank/do damage/stick to opponents is a much better utility. Then the shield just keeps you alive and helps you sustain.

people in ranked always insist their x role and im always stuck as support then my teammates end up feeding their lane (hello 1/8 gp) and losing i realize blah blah support better but uh what do i do in this situation?

You can always play another role? I doubt you're last pick 24/7 and even then you'd get some games not supporting. Assertiveness helps.

He fucked up the recall, the team couldn't decide on if they should split push or have him recall wasting even more time, and he fucked up his ult many times. Felt like he picked AP trynda because lolop. Was a pleasure seeing Voyboy play it though.

If you can force them to back or take a big objective without losing to much it's better

Jarv Taric ganks are hell. With all that armour, you can tank at least 12 or so tower shots between the two of you at full hp.

Maybe it sounds a bit dickish, but if I'm picking and the other person picking doesn't pick a role I want, I'll generally ignore other people's calls. I get forced into roles too, and I feel that's it's actually an important part of solo-q (to be able to learn to play every role). I've hated every idea of a pre-pick system (where you pick the role you want to play before you queue up) because it makes people play a singular role. Honestly if you're level 30, you should be able to top, mid, bot, and jungle. Not saying you got to be great at them, but you should know how.
