I just tried out the new UI, I think it looks really well done. I like the new games list but media doesn't work, it says it can't find their media player even though it's in the folder.
Those artifacts in the screenshots make my eyes bleed.
The only problem I see is that everything is really gray, and not black. The taskbar icon seems to blend in with my taskbar now that it's light gray instead of black.

Any who back to reality, if I do say so myself, those are some bad reasons to hate it, you sound like you're trying to make it out as the worst thing that has ever happened to you.
It's a beta for a reason. So us users can submit feedback on what they like and don't like about it. Because eventually we will get a update and get stuck with the new UI. So let Valve know about the problems your having with it and what you think is terrible about it. To make a much better outcome of the final version of the new UI.
The In-Game Community screen gets VERY messy VERY fast. Make those little windows movable or get rid of them.
BTW, the gradient in the chat is annoying too. It is NOT more visually appealing. Hopefully we can change this with new skins when it's actually out of beta.
Lots of blank space, they better work on filling it up.

I keep hearing things like.. "It's the beta" "it's only the beta, chill".. Though my problem with it is that is not that it's glitchy (which it is), not that it's laggy (which it is), not that it deleted my games or friend list (which it did for some people) but my problem is the way it looks.
More than usually, products in beta are enhanced in performance before they are taken out of beta, not revamped completely from head to toe.
Yes I have a choice NOW regarding whether I use it or not, though in a few months this thing is going to become the standrad and I won't be able change back. Anyway, I'm only trying to see what facepunchers thought of it, and I've already expressed my issues directly to Valve.

The only reason the platform is getting revamped is for it to be able to run on multiple platforms (Linux etc). The look, who gives a shit. You can mod it to your liking, and besides, it's in beta. Likely, it's not going to hit the content servers for quite some time.

Worked great for me! I love this, the old Steam UI lagged when I moved it across the screen, this one gives less lag. And I like how it shows a screenshot of some games and mods in the games tab, looks very clean and modern.
My steam friends were gone earlier, but they're back now.
Great idea, post it here instead of posting it on the official steam forums where they want you to tell them what's wrong with it.

That's what betas are for.
I like it, maybe a bit laggier than the normal interface but it's a beta. If anything, I'm going to stay in the UI Beta, it looks sexy.
You can change the size of the windows you know.
I like it, the overlay sometimes refuses to respond though.

They're on the right track with the store/library/news/community buttons, but it might be a little too big.
It also looks like a bunch of text just randomly sitting there. I think it would look more professional if there were a slightly darker background in the menu area, like this:

I've been dinkin' around with it, can't say I have much to complain about. Looks sexy, instead of like a flat piece of MSDOS prompt or something.
I changed to the beta in options, but now I can't connect to steam at all.
