The definition of "MBT" is quite... flexible.

All these tanks could easily also fit in the Medium tank role.
What exactly makes these tanks MBTs? Gun size? Armor? Weight? Speed? At which point does a medium tank turn into a MBT? The Leopard I doesn't have much more armor than the Wumbo, and it also packs a 105, so the Wumbo is a MBT :v:

They're only MBTs because the nations producing them touted them as one. The fact Wikipedia says the T-54/55 is a main battle tank however is really arguable.

It was only adapted into the role later on. It was designed as a medium tank in every aspect.

The soviets still refered to the T-55 as a medium tank, same with the T-62 actually (My memory might be failing me here though, I can't find the original manual in Ruskie language). Probably because they stuck with the heavy tank notion a little longer than the west.

It seems that armchair generals are the only ones calling the T-55 a MBT. Maybe it'd be the main armored force for a developping country, but to the soviets it was only a complement to heavier tanks.

Now prepare your anus for a painful grind to the D-2-5T(The gun on the KV-1s that everybody bitches about being OP) that is only made worst by shitty teams, constant Tier 8 matches, and HEAT-happy mini derps like the Sherman 105.

But in the end, it's worth it because it's fun to blast apart the mini derp Shermans and Panzer IVs after all the pain they caused during your KV-1 and stock grinds.

But be warned, the KV-1s is NOT like the KV-1, it's alot quicker once upgraded, but in return it has thinner armor, but it can still bounce rounds if you angle it properly or hull-down. Also even the D-2-5T has shit accuarcy at long ranges, so I suggest you avoid dueling with TDs and sniping tanks at long ranges.

Also the D-2-5T, like most Russian tanks are prone to engine fires and the occasional ammo rack.

But seriously if you see a Sherman or Panzer IV, automatically assume that they have the 105mm mini derps mounted, because most of them do and they most likely have HEAT equipped. So do not hesitate to kill the fucks if you can.
