You should be able to make a profit of buying a luchs and selling it after 8.4 as well.

With some very light grinding it's quite easily possible to reach T7 in a month.
If you turbonerd it you could reach it in 2-4 days.
If you turbodarkest it, it'd take exactly 8 hours.

That stereotype of "germany stronk, the reds can't hit shit" has been exacerbated by all those German memoirs that show the Russians throwing shells at them while moviong at full speed, as if any god damn German tank could hit anything while moving. There's also the crude manufacture and distinct lack of maintenance, but the IS-2 didn't suffer from that since it only went to the more elite units.

This. Tiger II is completely badass; why would you skip it? You could've used that 51k free xp to get the E-75 tracks and turret before your first fight instead of being stuck with them for the first hundred.

I KNOW. I've still got my Tiger 2 sitting around, fully upgraded and equipped. I love the tank, and I was totally willing to grind the last 54,000 XP to get the E-75. However, I recently turned 19, came back from a bar, and played through a few hundred gold in XP from my Lowe. Looking at my research tree, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to blow it on the e-75. I've still got the Tiger 2, and a reasonable amount of gold - I'm going to use it and my Lowe to get the necessary XP to avoid the E-75's stock grind. I don't plan on getting rid of the tiger 2, it's my best tank. I just wish I could've used the XP to get the Jagdpanther and skip the Jagdpanzer IV instead, which would have been the sane option (It's the other grind I'm working on).
But no, drunk AtomicWaffle went "Hey, I can get THIS!" and clicked without thinking. Between dumb ratings and the "0 XP" indicator, I feel pretty stupid.
