I don't know what you guys are using for your FPS, but I'm getting about 30+ on the Infantry showcase with everything on high/very high with terrain set to standard. Terrain seems to be a big hit for me. My view distance is also set to ~1500 which is shite, but I'm running this on a Q6600 and a GTX 260.
Does the Regular DePBO/UnPBO work for unpacking missions ready for opening in the editor. Can't test right now as I'm not at my rig.
Shameless repost.

It's a hit or miss FPS wise, either you have good/decent fps or your fps is shit.
I was getting p good fps on my system at first, but now it seems like it's gone down.
-cpucount=4 increased it though.
So my first mission is nearing completion. It is ostensibly a stealth mission where a squad of up to 8 people are tasked with blowing up a nearby communications array in preparation for the attack on Stratis. However, I've added a few sidemissions such as assassinating officers and destroying supply depots. Their locations are revealed by capturing transmitter towers scattered across the island. Would anyone be interested in me uploading this once it's all polished up and feature complete?

Sounds fun to me.
I hate the new crosshair, the Arma II one was so much better.

The Arma 2 one was a bit too good mostly because of the fact that there was a point that magically always told you exactly where your bullets will go, no matter how shaky your aim is.

I think ArmA 3's is better, it actually makes you use the fucking sights as intended.

It was good for measuring range, but being able to insta-snipe an enemy was a bit ridiculous.
Is there a good guide to mission building anywhere?
Is there a good guide to mission building anywhere?
Most of the ARMA 2 ones transfer almost identically over to ARMA 3.
I thought about doing a full "from the start with no scripting experience" guide with templates once the dedicated servers are out to help increase the amount of missions we have available, will have a think next week.
am i the only one who randomly crashes like every half an hour or so?
I am loving wasteland but I wish the food system was fixed, kinda boring just looking for guns and ambushing people.
am i the only one who randomly crashes like every half an hour or so?
Probably. What are your system specs.
I've only crashed twice and I've logged 35 hours of play time. (NO SHAME)

I crash about 50% of the time trying to join MP servers. I never crash in SP and editor.

What should I set my Maxmem property to?
am i the only one who randomly crashes like every half an hour or so?
I get random crashes, but it seems when a wasteland server crashes for whatever reason, everyone in it crashes.
I also crash about 75-90% of the time when trying to join servers, for example I just tried to get in a game 7 times crashing and starting back up before giving up.

If my laptop has 8gb of ram would I be able to get away with using -maxMem=6144? :v:
My second mission is finally up on Armaholic!

Played this with another FP'er, it was good fun, we wasted an hour away on it enjoying every moment. Took some screens during play:
Ambushed on our way there, I spun the vehicle around and took cover behind it to shoot under it while my squad-mate used the HMG on the vehicle.
[t]http://i2.minus.com/j0N6pZ11d0jCf.png[/t]
Moved on, attacked again. Vehicle took a good amount of damage from other attacks and crashes, so we got out and took cover behind the wreck.
[t]http://i4.minus.com/jbo2C0QLqIrhYu.png[/t]
We were pretty close to Girna so we decided to walk hoping a surprise would be more effective. Turns out an AI squad-mate had followed us (somehow!) and he decided it would be best to opt into shooting a village full of enemies, alerting them all.
[t]http://i5.minus.com/jf5KCs6DOIWmj.png[/t]
We moved down into the village using the rocks for cover and cleared out most of the infantry, but the vehicle got us in the end.

I am pumped
Story time from Wasteland on OPFOR;
I was riding along, joined a group of 3. So I offer to pick them up, I don't hear anything they say. Then they shoot my tires out. Dick move, right?
So I get out, shoot them all dead. Then I get shot by someone probably watching the fiasco go down. Revenge sought out.
Okay, so then I randomly spawn. They're at least a click away, so I run toward. Joined them, figured, we could work as a team, put shit behind us. We go through some building, loot some weapon caches. Then they find a vehicle. They take off in the vehicle without me.
I got a little pissed off. So I followed them. I ran, and I ran. They were fairly far away. I tracked them down, and I saw them in the distance. With my scope around 400-500m away. I line my scope up with one of them hiding behind a rock. POWF! The one goes down, the other scrambles for cover. I duck around, go around the hill, and I go up toward the rocks he was hiding behind. He sees me, gets out of cover, starts one shotting toward me, I'm fucking STRAFING, JUST STRAFING LEFT. BULLETS WIZZING BY.
I START FIRING, POW POW POW POW UNTIL I HEAR A CLICK. DROPPED like a sack of potatoes. I ventured over to both their bodies as they watched in death cam.
I started tea bagging them. Then I disconnect and laugh hard as fuck.
That was more fun than I had killing enemies in Wasteland, to be honest.
I got 8Gb and I use 6144
Good to know.
Also using the Dev Build gives a slight performance boost from what I've heard, but I have yet to test it myself.
I must be lucky, but I've never crashed once when joining a server or doing stuff in singleplayer or the editor or anything.
Even Wasteland ones.
I've only crashed when hosting for multiplayer and when I placed about 80 AI in one spot to see what would happen.
played the demo and
I really like the extended controls-etc mainly because I have an MMO mouse but holy fuck this game is confusing to play :v:
[editline]10th March 2013[/editline]
maybe its just be, I really want the game and like the amount of control I get
I'll play on and off till I'm used to it
Here's my 2 cents.
Things I like:
Animations - The movement and weapon animations are flawless! The tactical movements are pretty spot on as far as infantry standards are concerned. I also like being able to put my pistol at the low ready instead of pointing it out in front of me all the time, although it would be nice to holster it when I don't have a primary weapon.
Sounds - The gun sounds make me want to cream my pants - especially with the MK19. The only gripe I have is the impact from explosions should sound more distant and delayed when firing past the respective distance. I landed a 40mm round at about 500m away and it sounded like it was only 100m.
Combat diving - Fuck yes, this is awesome. This has so much more potential but this is also Alpha; there will be more to come I'm sure.
Weapon/character customization - I've been waiting for this for a while and now it's finally here. I wish the clothing customization was more in-depth, like being able to choose top and bottom portions instead of just one uniform but I can't really complain. It goes as far as choosing headgear and eye protection which is awesome because I like to run around looking like an SF badass even though I'm not :v:
Ragdolls - It could be improved a little bit but it's still nice to see that my enemies drop instantly when they're shot. I just wonder if they'll react to a certain caliber of a weapon.
Voice acting - Finally! I like being able to hear tactical communication instead of choppy voice overs. Although I hate the fact that when I was playing through the infantry showcase that all the squad leader did was scream over comms. Calm down bro! I hope you can concentrate under fire while calling in a 9 line medevac. (I know, it's just a video game)
Things I dislike:
Driving - It's not so bad, but I hardly doubt you're going to be able to drift a MATV on a dirt road in real life without it rolling over. I feel that most of the vehicles should have improved handling to compensate for the weight of the vehicle.
Physics - The only thing I have to say is that it doesn't make any sense to set up a TCP with cement barriers forming a serpentine when I could just drive over and through them like I'm in a monster truck. You couldn't do that in ARMA 2 so well, but then again ARMA 2's physics engine wasn't that great.
Setting - The only thing that bothers me about this is the style of the warfare. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, I mean that the game is way too futuristic for my liking. It's just a personal opinion, but I can't stand seeing it in the year 2035 with modern day equipment.
:v: OPFOR :v: : Seriously? What is with the armor? Am I suddenly playing the Vanu Sovreignty in Planetside 2??
Edit:
If you're going to keep rating me dumb, at least tell me what is wrong with my post. I've made some pretty valid points that I'm going to stick with.

Are you implying that by the time it is 2035 we should have futuristic weapons that fire pulse beams?
