You can go ultra with that.
[editline]12th March 2013[/editline]
It doesn't take much to be able to go very high and ultra with only very minor hiccups that may or may not be due to the optimization issues.
With that cpu and a somewhat lower-end midge range card I highly doubt it if he's planning on playing at 1920x1080. Maybe a mix of standard and high.
Not for a 7770.
Thank god, I just shit my pants since I just ordered those parts.
What are your specs?
Intel i5-2400
Nividia 560ti
8gb ram
Windows 8 64-bit
I run on all high with 2xAA, and terrain/object detail on standard, I get about 40-50fps on sp and 25-40 in mp.

Guess you really are just lucky.
I love how you can see sparks fly out of your muzzle when you fire at night :3
Honestly, I wish the game had an attachments box so that you can freely mod your gun without having to steal mods from enemies or just grab it as-is.

My CPU isn't hyperthreaded, is only 2.41 GHz (Q6600). It is a quad core, though. He'll have a better video card than mine, too.
Though I'm running on a 1024x768 monitor, so you may be right.

You can put them in an empty box in the editor if you want.

That CPU was once an abolute behemoth... it's aged badly.

I'd say it has aged pretty goddamn well considering I haven't had to replace it (I've had it in my machine for nearly six years) and I can still blast through CPU hogs like the ArmA series and GTA IV.
Sorry to be one of those people, But do you THINK this would play Arma 3 on medium settings?
*pic*
dual core?!?
Guess you really are just lucky.
They ran the ArmA 3 live demos on gtx 560s, so we know it's optimized for those. I dunno about the processor though.
I run it with my 560m(mobile) on above medium and it runs pretty decent except multiplayer. I get about 30-60fps currently but sometimes 15-45 on multiplayer.
dual core?!?
You don't need an octocore ultra super processor to get good performance, and the one he's getting is also hyperthreaded I think.
I get good fps singleplayer, but it quickly drops to very bad lag on almost any multiplayer. Is it just bad servers, or are there ways to fix it? I have a good Nvidia GTX600 series, but even on low the lag is horrible in Wasteland.

What's your cpu and resolution?
My laptop has the 460m and I get roughly the same fps, but with no shadows.

Changing your settings won't do anything. It's a problem with the alpha. You can look at the solutions posted on the last page and some of the pages before that, though they're all the same.
Wasteland can't be fixed, though, especially if the server has been running for awhile.

Until there's an update or some new drivers are put out, we all have to deal with the issues.
Anyone know how to make the AI less retarded in Arma 3? They're better than Arma 2 for sure but they still completely dont care about being shot at unless you hit one of them.
Also I really hope Bohemia fixes scripting and triggers. The moment you do anything even slightly complicated like synching a waypoint to a trigger, your framerate is halved. I've had to abandon some great missions because of this.

They only seem to react properly if either they're directly hit or they are travelling to a waypoint.
I was fucking around in the editor and such where I'd have them run down the street, but when I shot at them they actually diverted from their path to try and flank me. I tried it again and next time planted a charge in the building I was in so by the time they got to my previous position all they'd get was a collapsing building crushing them to death.

Yeah something I have noticed and greatly appreciate is that the AI will flank the shit out of you. In arma they just sorted listed lazily left or right in an attempt to flank, but I've had squads come from behind that had no waypoints anywhere near there. It's great.

They'll use pincer tactics, too.
One time I had gotten to a corner of the building, and they had (all the same squad) gone around the right and left sides in an attempt to trap me.

Biplane wars are the best thing about OA. Reminds me of playing Crimson Skies.

For some reason seeing pictures of ArmA 2 is already making me nostalgic.
It's weird.

Oh hey that's exactly what I've got! Man I'm lucky.

I went back to playing A2 until merging content works better. Combined ops just has too much more content for me to stop playing it yet.
Just havin' a wank

Plus with all of the weapons and things like CSM2 and ACE the combat feels less game-y.
