ARMA Series (I, II, III) - It's like the 4th of July!

After 16 hours of work in the Arma editor in any serious capacity for the first time I've got a mission that is semi-finished and can be played through with relatively few kinks. 8 of those hours were spent wrestling with figuring out how to get a helicopter to break its patrol cycle and respond to an alarm if BLUFOR were detected while trying to plant explosives on the communications array I'd set as the main objective. While doing that however, I somehow broke tasks updating. I could probably do it a fair bit quicker now, but like I said, it's the first time I've done anything in the editor beyond plopping down units and blowing them up.
Edit: On that subject; What's the most efficient way to distribute a task to an entire group and doing the same for updating their tasks upon completion?

You have to delete the anims.pbo files, and I think the UI files. Also delete the respective BISIGN files for the .pbo files.

Game crashed taking everything with it forcing me to restart. I captured the screen with Puush before my PC went crazy.
Bohemia is going to add Steam Workshop eventually for missions, right?
Does anyone know how to increase the ArmA2's render distance? Not the view distance, because vehicles and soldiers just pop in at about 1500m. It makes it really hard to aim while flying.

How in the FUCK do I get description.ext to work in my mission?
I'm in the editor, and no matter how many times I reload it and save it and load it again and preview, the respawn script refuses to work!
basically my current description.ext looks like this:
respawn = "3";
respawndelay = "3";
I have also ensured that it is in the correct folder and that there is a marker named respawn_west

Had fun flying the attack littlebird around tonight after getting my HOTAS out, instead of that other incident where I flew the helicopter perfectly but 2nd was so intent on getting me to crash that he rigged my controls
It feels like they've taken a lot of the stuff from Take On Helicopters to the ArmA branch engine, and it really shows (stuff like 6dof)
Im down for a game. I got the gamr running better and its grown on me
I'm better at choppers than I anticipated
Also someone make an AI mission with roadside ambushes for me

You can't respawn in the editor mode. You need to export it as a MP mission.

respawning doesnt work in the editor u have to export the mission

also, never trust OPFOR in hostage missions(see getting owned in quads and putting all of OPFOR in one room).
is it just me or can you not get in a vehicle if all the tyres are blown out, even if the turret is still functional
I wonder if ArmA 2 mods will work in 3. The new modern stuff is okay, but I would really like to try paradropping shittons of VDV onto Stratis from an IL-76.
Are we going to see working helicopter lifting in later updates(do you think) or is it still going to be a mods duty?
I really can't wait for multiplayer to become as optimized as singleplayer - I'd love to play some wasteland at over 60fps

Now that the game has physics i'd love to see them implementing that, since it became actually possible.
