I agree, I can turn off the engine and the thing will fly for a while before it falls.
you can do that irl the rotors work just like wings of an aeroplane. They don't magically stop when you turn off the engine, just like cars don't stop if you turn off the engine. [editline]9th March 2013[/editline] it's not related to inertia, you just stop generating lift and thus just glide
Is there already an optimization guide out there already? I even tho I meet the recommended specs (amd) it runs at 8 fps in multiplayer, with everything on very low.. And this is how it looks [t]http://www.abload.de/img/arma32013-03-0916-40-mzuy2.jpg[/t]
to everyone with the AMD Phenom II X4 955 or similar download cpu-z and check if ur cpu speeds are alternating from the 3.2 or whatever to around 800. if that's happening, reboot into bios and disable cool n' quiet, on my rig it borked itself and kept the clock at 800 all the time. might fix the fps problems
arma 3 looks pretty nice. hopefully i'll be able to get my hands on it soon.
Fucking shit, hackers already. This doesn't bode well. I doubt it would affect close-knit communities too much but, uuuugh, dammit, c'mon humanity... (happens most noticeably around 1:10ish)

That's a disaster waiting to happen on large public servers.
Okay, I gave the thread a quick scan for the term "hacker" in the last three or four pages so I wasn't sure if it'd been covered yet or not. This guy was a pseudo-celebrity livestreaming so it was a disaster waiting to happen covered in gasoline and skittles, but if this is a problem that can be remedied I'm beyond relieved.
BE is not enabled in the beta afaik. And when it is enabled global bans will be more effective because of the impossibility(?) of getting infinite free CD keys to come back always after getting banned because of steam. edit: the alpha is not secure at all
Again, because most servers are not checking for signatures and just letting you join with whatever the fuck you want. That's a disaster waiting to happen on large public servers.
Signature checks wouldn't stop you doing script injections to spawn stuff in.

Have it set on Standard-High. Multiplayer will be laggy regardless of how good your PC is.
Signature checks wouldn't stop you doing script injections to spawn stuff in.
With what ? external programs ? you'd risk getting a global ban, i never saw anyone doing that in 500 hours of Arma 2.
Don't know if this has been answered yet, but has anyone had trouble get the crateFillerv.2 to work? I don't get any errors but my crates remain empty.
Any FP ops today?
With what ? external programs ? you'd risk getting a global ban, i never saw anyone doing that in 500 hours of Arma 2.
It's only risking a global ban if you did it on BE enabled servers, and there's no BE in the alpha.
Does Arma 3 game crash every 10-30 minutes in multiplayer for anyone else?
It's only risking a global ban if you did it on BE enabled servers, and there's no BE in the alpha.
True, but still... most people wouldn't go through the trouble of using an external program, they're just having fun when possible, and the signature check is enough to stop that.
Every single server that is under 100ms latency is either Co-Op or Wasteland, fuck. Finding good servers has always been hell in Arma.
Does Arma 3 game crash every 10-30 minutes in multiplayer for anyone else?
Depends on the server for me, it's pretty unstable on the larger ones.
like I'll try to get an item out of a crate and the game immediately freezes.
This too
Does Arma 3 game crash every 10-30 minutes in multiplayer for anyone else?
Out of the blue crashes don't seem to happen to me too often, maybe once every 1-3 hours of gameplay. Every 30 minutes to an hour though, I'll crash from what I suspect seems to be caused by something, like I'll try to get an item out of a crate and the game immediately freezes.
With what ? external programs ? you'd risk getting a global ban, i never saw anyone doing that in 500 hours of Arma 2.
You obviously haven't played with 2nd47 or Nutcake.

If anybody wants to play something in A3, I'll be on at about 10PM GMT.

dang, after hours of making headgear properly attached to the head, thanks to lack of proper soldier modes, apperantly arma 2 tools .paa texture file fucks up the red channel in arma 3 basically all is blue what do
Sadly, my fps is locked to 11. I have tried changing everything, it stays on either if its in low or high. Also view distance didn't change it either. Seems like I have to wait for more optimization.

There's no fix for the slideshow multiplayer, right? No allocating RAM, or enabling multiple cores?
I flew towards like 3-4 enemy infantry in a littlebird, start raining fire upon them and one of the fuckers snipes me out of the cockpit and then the littlebird flies in to the squad taking out at least two of them :v:
Woo got ArmA III! What's Wasteland run like on here?
