Mind you they won't surrender on assaults too.
Mind you they won't surrender on assaults too.
Yeah I'm aware of this. I managed to arrest 2 SWAT though, melee definitely works.
50% off in the sale now. I KNEW it would go on (more significant) sale at some point. :v: Now, where do I get 10 dollars...
For me usually just shooting them once with the pistol and screaming like fuck works.
Wolf is definitively my fav character. I love how he nearly shits himself when he spots a cloaker :v:
Time to pick this game up in the sales
So, one question before I grab it: it's still active, right? After reading so many horror stories of awful AI, I definitely want to play with real people.
For me usually just shooting them once with the pistol and screaming like fuck works.
I wish that worked for me. Using the pistol just means I'll end up shooting them to death because they will refuse to listen 95% of the time. [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] Getting cops to surrender on Hard Mode is impossible even with melee. I can't get a lone cop with a pistol to surrender even after I bash him into the wall and yell at him. Somehow my teammate got 2 FBI to surrender in the same room though. I swear either being a high level makes you more intimidating, or they're just really goddamn good.

Bought it. I don't know a whole lot about how the game works, so is there any gameplay difference between the four characters? How does leveling up work? Someone give me a basic run-down.
I nearly shat MY pants when I heard his shriek. CLOOAKIIIEEEEEEH [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] You level-up independently of the your skill tree. You just level up and level up whatever skill tree you have chosen. If you pick support and level-up, you'll level up support. Choose to assault and next tiem you level up, you«ll level assault up. Every bonus earned is active regardless of your current skill tree. Change it by pressing TAB and 1, 2 or 3 (check the lower-left corner of the TAB menu. No game play difference between the crew. Well, except you'll be busy laughing at Wolf's lines if you pick him. Seriously, El Huaxo busts me up everytime.
Just got this, finished downloading and now when I press play it just sticks on the steam "Preparing to launch..." thing. Any suggestions?
Restart Steam?
Restart Steam?
Yeah, restarting fixed it.
He shits himself when he spots anything, it's hilarious.
He also for some reason sounds so sad when the codes don't work for Diamond Heist. "Dammit! The codes don't work... BAAAAAAIN!"

It's impossible to take hostages during one. Once the assault is done though, taking hostages is easy as hell.
You know. Wolf is the perfect halloween costume. You just need a toy gun, a suit and a white mask. Paint the lower half red, lock and load and scream at EVERYTHING. Go with a friend dressed as mister foster for added dosh-related fun.
The thing about arresting cops, is that it HAS to be done AFTER an assault. It's impossible to take hostages during one. The best hostages are guards and the covert FBI agents. None have much coverage.
Guards are annoying because their health is high enough that they won't surrender, but low enough that most weapons instantly kill them. FBI Agents are somewhat easy but tend to be stubborn fight-to-the-death types. [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] And Heavy's do not give up at all. You can drain their health shot by shot with the weakest pistol in the game and they will refuse until you finally kill them. I don't know how you're supposed to make them surrender.
Same as you do with all others, really. Melee'd one in the face and he surrendered.

They should surrender, even a revolver round to the midsection usually does the trick.
I just got this game and while it's fun as hell and runs like a dream, the graphics look all fucked up. Like it's lacking lighting and shadows; My friends said they aren't experiencing this problem, and I searched all over the place with nothing coming even close to this issue. I have an Nvidia Geforce GT 430 if it makes any difference. Anybody know what the deal is or how I might fix this?

Those should always be tried before any crazy tweaks.
So I tried my first Heist in single-player, normal difficulty, First World Bank. I barely made it out, and Chains was arrested, but, eh, sacrifices will be made! :v: How do you upgrade specific specializations? Like, Assault, Sharpshooter, and Support. I gained two rep levels and gained two upgrades in Assault, but I can't figure out how to level the two other specializations. [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] Also, the AI wasn't nearly as bad as people made it sound. Well, in terms of shooting things and not being shot. The fact that they're incapable of interaction with objectives lessens their usefulness rather significantly.

What is this game like? 'Been considering to get it when it's on sale (unfortunately I'm broke right now), so I'll probably get it in a week or something.
