I was hoping that this game would be going on sale. Downloading now. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197999395721/ Steam profile if anyone wants to play later today.
Wolf is definitively my fav character. I love how he nearly shits himself when he spots a cloaker :v:
He needs to calm the fuck down
Is this game worth $10 even though I have nobody to play with? Are there still a lot of servers?
I still want to know who the hell was Slick. :downs:
I think slick is an insult. Example: Nice going slick [editline]27th November 2011[/editline]
Is this game worth $10 even though I have nobody to play with? Bought this today, played some singleplayer, it's awesome indeed. Is the community in this good? Like, if I play on some public servers, will I encounter a lot of retards?
I think slick is an insult. Example: Nice going slick
Slick is a reference to The Heat. And "Slick" has a big "S" in the subtitles.
I just got this game and while it's fun as hell and runs like a dream, the graphics look all fucked up. Like it's lacking lighting and shadows; My friends said they aren't experiencing this problem, and I searched all over the place with nothing coming even close to this issue. I have an Nvidia Geforce GT 430 if it makes any difference. Anybody know what the deal is or how I might fix this?
I fixed the problem by just restarting my PC oddly enough.
Bought this today, played some singleplayer, it's awesome indeed. Is the community in this good? Like, if I play on some public servers, will I encounter a lot of retards?
I've had this game for about a day and have only played with a couple of my friends, but I can guarantee you that pubbing in co-op encouraged games is never really a good idea. It's going to be hit and miss but mostly miss. You'd be better off playing with friends or somebody that isn't gonna scream and rage if you do the slightest thing wrong. Of course I'm just assuming things here, but after playing about 3 years worth of L4D and having only like half a dozen good pub game experiences, I think that just speaks for itself. ( Of course that's an entirely different community. )
If anyone's still on the fence, I'm looking for people to chip in for a Fourpack. I already have one other person and 3 hours people so hurry up! Send me a PM if you're interested.
Played two more single-player heists and I've got to say, it's pretty genius. About time someone applied Left 4 Dead's good ideas to a different theme. Leveling up seems kind of slow, though, considering that I hear you have to be at least level 100 (out of 145) to play on the highest difficulty. Three heists and I'm only level 6.
Playing on hard makes leveling up much, much faster.
In a Q&A, the devs said they recommended around level 40 before trying hard. So, uh. I'll give it a try, some time, but only with intelligent, human players. :v: Also, another thing that sticks out to me about the game: the soundtrack. Goodness, it's rather wonderful.
So, I'm going to get a 4-pack of this game, an dwas considering giving it to a friend. However, he doesn't have a very good computer:
Operating System MS Windows XP Home 32-bit SP3 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz 64 °C Conroe 65nm Technology RAM 2.00 GB DDR2 Motherboard Dell Inc. 0WG864 (Microprocessor) Graphics DELL E207WFP (1680x1050@60Hz) 128MB GeForce 7300 LE (Dell) 57 °C Hard Drives 313GB Seagate ST3320633AS (SATA) 39 °C Optical Drives PHILIPS DVD-ROM DROM6316 TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H553A DTSoftBusCd00
Compare to the minimum requirements:
OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7 Processor: P4 3 GHz or Athlon 3400+ Memory: 1 GB Ram Video Card: NVIDIA 7800GTX or ATI x1900
He doesn't meet the GPU requirements, nor the CPU requirements (I think :v:), but is there any chance he could play this game at a decent frame rate?
he should check out those temperatures. it doesn't look playable to me though
Also, another thing that sticks out to me about the game: the soundtrack. Goodness, it's rather wonderful.
It's made by the same guy that made the Bionic Commando Rearmed soundtrack, he's awesome.
I would love to make a costume based on this. I have been thinking about getting a group together to do a group costume for a convention. Does anyone know where to get the masks, other than the promotional one with the US flag on it? That has been the only one I could find....
Anyone else own this on PS3? I love this game, Also some of the trophy's are kinda hard
Just bought the 4 pack for some co-op action with bros ;D

[editline]27th November 2011[/editline] Oh you mean real masks. Nevermind :v:
This is dangerously addictive. I went from 0 to 29 just today. Leveling up feels slow since payouts are kind of infrequent in-mission, but it seems like it actually happens fairly quickly.
Friend got me this game. It's fucking great. Curious, how do you upgrade a certain class? I know there's Assault, Sharpshooter, and Support. Do they just upgrade themselves automatically?
;33470463']Friend got me this game. It's fucking great. Curious, how do upgrade a certain class? I know there's Assault, Sharpshooter, and Support. Do they just upgrade themselves automatically?
Hold Tab and hit 1, 2, or 3 for whichever class you want to upgrade. Also, the cops' inhuman accuracy is getting on my nerves. You so much as poke a finger out of cover and every cop in eyesight is pumping you full of lead. Plus, the camera shake from getting hit makes it impossible to return fire. It's not so bad on enclosed maps like Slaughterhouse and Panic Room, but it makes Heat Street fucking unbearable.
What's the trick to making cops surrender? So far only I can only make Security Guards surrender (and only about 60% of the time), everyone else (including police officers) fight to the death. My friend however has absolutely no problem arresting like 6 FBI agents in a row... [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] I mean there was a SWAT guy who I shot with a pistol, ordered to surrender, shot, ordered, shot, ordered, shot, ordered, shot and he died. What am I doing wrong?
Put your iron sights over their head and press F. Works for me.
In a Q&A, the devs said they recommended around level 40 before trying hard.
Wow, really? I beat Panic Room on Overkill when I was on level 4. (With 2 humans leveled 7 and 5)
Wow, really? I beat Panic Room on Overkill when I was on level 4. (With 2 humans leveled 7 and 5)
Well most people aren't as good as you.

Well they are SWAT :v:
So I tried my first Heist in single-player, normal difficulty, First World Bank. I barely made it out, and Chains was arrested, but, eh, sacrifices will be made! :v:
Holy shit, dude. I tried to beat First World Bank with my friend on medium difficulty like 10 times until we managed to succeed. [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] We were lvl15 [editline]28th November 2011[/editline]
Also, the cops' inhuman accuracy is getting on my nerves.
Heat Street is the most boring heist IMO
Heat Street would be awesome if there were more of a focus on rushing forward, rather than on hiding behind a street lamp for 20 minutes waiting for THIS GODDAMN ASSAULT TO END SO I CAN ADVANCE FORWARD WITHOUT BEING MINCED INTO SWISS CHEESE. /rage But yeah, it's the weakest link, I think. Plus, escorting that slow-ass Matt dude is really just a pain in the ass. Green Bridge is also frustrating but it's not quite as bad since there's a LOT more evenly-spaced cover. In future DLC I really hope we get more actual bank heists. First World Bank is probably the most thematically enjoyable heist.
Heat Street is actually my second favorite heist. (Diamond being the first) The only way to actually enjoy it, is by either upgrading the M4A1/Bronco completely, or unlocking the M1A1 rifle with an accuracy and damage upgrade. It's a blast on Hard... but overkill seems near impossible. Even with the best players I've ever found, we couldn't get passed the first choke point street. (The one after the car crashes in front of you)
I think, gameplay-wise, Panic Room is my favorite. The enclosed quarters make for some spectacular combat. First World Bank is more interesting in other ways, though, since with a good team, it feels so much like a heist movie. Also, I'm now level 42. My Sharpshooter tree is the most advanced... it seems to get all the survivability upgrades like Thick Skin and a few Body Armor increases. Plus, the M308 is a good bit of fun. Helpful on Heat Street and Green Bridge even though both of those are still nigh-impossible. Funny story about Green Bridge, though... I was playing with a team of about 30s-40s, and we made it to the escape sequence and we pretty much all promptly died the second we stepped out of the scaffolding. All of us except for one guy, that is. For some reason, he retreated pretty much all the way back to the hole in the bridge and just camped. Since it was non-stop assault, he couldn't do any hostage trades and he just waited it out as we all respawned. Finally, once we were all back, we tried to push forward a little bit. Again, three of us were pinned down, but while we were trading fire with the cops, Dallas had the bright idea of literally sprinting alllllll the way down the bridge to our extraction point. Somehow, he made it while the rest of us died. I still hate Green Bridge. :v: On another note entirely, news on the soundtrack release, straight from the composer/creative director:
I've expanded upon the short music loops heard when you win/lose heists and turned them into full-fledged tracks. Also, the music to the upcoming DLC heists will be included in the soundtrack! Hell, even the techno track heard in the party at the Garnet skyscraper (Diamond Heist) is being turned into a real David Guetta style Billboard smash hit!
Sounding quite excellent.
