Just got into this game last week, and I don't really understand how you unlock new weapons, perks, or anything else like that. I see challenges and I can select different classes to do challenges for, but I can't find anywhere where I can actually see what I have to do to complete the challenge.
You just play, you get points for successful completion of tasks, challenges, and missions.

Hit tab, choose one of the three "trees" with 1, 2, or 3, and as you get money in game you will unlock stuff.
I did Diamond Heist on Overkill alone and got the big diamond. Good day for me.
If anyone is interested, me and a couple of friends assembled a "Payday Crew" for lack of a better name. It's just a group of people who once or twice a week, group up and try and finish a couple of heists together. Our plan is to finish every heist on OK and we are practicing on hard.
We are just looking to have fun. Out of the 14 people in it, there are usually 1-3 always playing the game during nights and sometimes during the day. If you are interested, send me a message and I'll add you through steam so we can start playing.
Is the glock in the trailer a new weapon? I've never seen it before.
Oh my god. When is it coming out? Any sign of a release date?

Knowing Valve's influence, this DLC will probably be free for PC (like all the L4D ones).
So I guess the L4D and Payday universe are now one in the same if Mercy Hospital exists. Payday being the prequel before the outbreak. Maybe we'll pick up some L4D backstory to the infection during the heist. Also could mean the robbers are survivors somewhere in the L4D universe.

wait wait wait
So technically... they DID make a L4D prequel. Mind = blown.

Or it could just be a non-canon map that they made for fun. Like darth vader in soul caliber.

I'd find it really amusing if towards the end of the heist, they lose the blood sample or accidentally release it into a water supply of some sort. Accidentally causing the entire outbreak. I'm fairly certain this is going to be canon though if Valve is onboard with it.

It's going to be paid. In the menu, the class select mentions buying the DLC to play as the new class and host the new maps.
That said it'll be free to play on DLC maps, but not to host them.

I'm okay with this, as long as it's a reasonable price. I'm glad they're not dividing up the community though. If one of your friends buys it, everyone can still play together.
I'm going to start a game, anyone want to join?

Message me on steam.
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
Fuck, I can't. Game won't even start for some fucking reason.

That's a different DLC.
See the top of the page, the new achievements mention the 2 new maps of the paid DLC, Counterfeit and Undercover.

You're correct.
No Mercy is free, Counterfeit and Undercover aren't
Maybe Dallas won't need a medic bag because he's dying anymore.
Despite some vague-ish comments from Valve that this wasn't the case, IGN has grabbed a video from the Payday: The Heist YouTube channel indicating that developers Overkill are working with Valve on a game called No Mercy that will explore the origins of the zombie virus from Left 4 Dead.
Can't wait to play that No Mercy game!
Keep up the great reporting Kotaku

Original Story: A teaser trailer popped up on the official Payday: The Heist YouTube channel showing off a collaboration between Valve and developer Overkill. Titled No Mercy, the in-development content will allegedly tell the story of how Left 4 Dead's zombie outbreak began. "Have you ever wondered how the Left 4 Dead series began? It started with a heist!"
It is canon, then.
I am crying tears. Time to re-install this badass

Fixed video for the lazy.
Now I want this game but $20 is a bit much for me at the moment. Come on summer sale!
for ps3 users:
is this game actually worth 20 dollars?
http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission/2012/06/15/paydays-no-mercy-map-not-a-left-4-dead-prequel-says-valve-writer/
Not a prequel and thus, not canon.
Bill will be in the mission though.
now will we get to Kill Bill?
New weapon confirmed: Katana.

If you're gonna get it for PS3, I'd recommend waiting it out. I've heard PS3 users get a far worse experience than PC (they dont have ironsights atm I think) and loads of other things. PC users get patches much faster than PS3, too.
Watch as Matt starts the infection by fooling you guys.

[editline]16th June 2012[/editline]
