I'm just replaying ME3 with all the DLC I bought and I'm thinking about taking Kaidan and James with me during the Citadel DLC just to kinda see their reactions. I felt a bit bad when Liara said she wanted to go and Kaidan replied: I never get picked.
Also I think Traynor, James and STEEEVE are actually pretty well written. Say whatever you want about James but I prefer him over Kaidan and Ashley. Still, just like them and any human teammate he always stays on the Normandy.
I love playing engineer (at least in 2 and 3). It may not be as engaging as playing vanguard or infiltrator, but having those drones and sabotage to harass the enemy can be pretty damn fun.
My FemShep is engineer. Mass Effect 1 was pain in the ass to finish since that class is useless in combat and only has hacking and electronic skills (topic title related). I'm glad they made them more suitable for battle in later games.
I love how in the Citadel DLC there was even a reference to me being engineer. Something along the lines of "You're engineer? I forgot with all the shooting going on".
So I went into Peak 15 and suddenly everyone became shadow people, my squad included.

And it persists through restarting the game.

In the Omega DLC being an engineer pays off a little

I'd suggest playing another game... that may be an indication that your graphics card's about to go

I looked into it, it's something that happens in Peak 15 and Ilos with newer AMD CPUs. I just had to change the viewmode to unlit to fix it. It made everything kind of bright, but it worked.
The next Mass Effect game should be Saints row 2 except you play as Aria eliminating new gangs and rebuilding your empire.
My favorite thing about the Citadel DLC is having the ability to put Wrex and Grunt in the same squad
Hah, Towers of Hanoi in the arcade Shepard is like "No"
[editline]16th March 2013[/editline]
Oh god I love this DLC.
I had forgotten what Towers of Hanoi was, that minigame was really out of place in ME1.
So, I think after my latest male shep playthrough, I want to do my first ever FemShep.
Is there any major differences outside of romance?
I was thinking of playing an underrated class. Engineer, Adept? This is starting with ME1, btw.
Jennifer Hale's voice acting is leagues better than Mark Meer's. Some lines are slightly different, as well.

I think there may be some other dialogue that is slightly different when you're a female.
Like, I know when you go the the recruiting station on Omega on the Archangel mission, the Batarian initially tells you that the stripper sign-ups are in a different room (or something to that effect).
[editline] Aww, ninja'd.[/editline]
Aww, ninja'd.

Ehh, when I first played Mass Effect, I was playing a renegade manshep. The voice acting and general feel made me turn to femshep, and Hale nailed it.
I feel that Meer really improved in ME2 and ME3, his performance in ME1 was okay, but not on the same level as Hale.
Then again I've grown through my teens hearing Hale so I am partially bias towards that wonderful voice.
I personally think that Meer fits paragon better and Hale fits renegade better.

this
mark's got a really cool natural voice, but hale's a much better actor. she's more subtle and mark is more hammy. very dumb people always think Hale sounds bored. but that's not boredom, it's natural speech, compared to mark's overdoing it and hamming it up. i don't dislike maleshep, i just think femshep is much better. and look at hale's resume (being in everything ever). she knows what she's doing.

I'll take it as a compliment, because getting a good looking FemShep is tough work.

Honestly.
I think neither is really better as a whole than the other since they both excelled at certain parts and come out about equal.

Mark Meer improved in Me2 and Me3, but honestly there are some parts I just laugh at.
Like in ME3 when Miranda tells you about her [sp]father's involvement in Oriana's kidnapping.[/sp]
"What? Why?" In the most monotone voice ever.
Its probably not his fault, just bad script context for when they had him read it. Still though.
Not that Jennifer Hale doesn't have her problems.
Sultry tone is always on.

I always used the default ME1 femshep as a base, tweaked a little in ME2 and in ME3 carried on, with further minor improvements if needed. It's the only custom character I've been perfectly happy with.

People saying Hale sounds bored and emotionless always pissed me off to no end. I thought it was fantastic. Barely every over the top, and when it was it was in situations where it would/should be. Hell, this latest citadel DLC had Hale come out with some stuff I haven't heard in the Mass Effect series before, a lot more jokey/sarcastic tones. She always has done a fantastic job.
I've never done a complete renegade run so I wouldn't really know how well she performs, but paragon? I think she has always done an outstanding job. Hale and Meer both improve dramatically after ME1, but Hale was already top notch at that point.
She's a wonderful voice actor. I replayed Eternal Darkness recently, and only half way through the game realized that one of the main (and the best) characters was voiced by Hale. It's weird how, while still speaking perfectly naturally, she sounds so different in certain roles.
I was amazed to find out she did Bastila Shan in KOTOR and Major Sarah Parker from Ground Control. Both had distinct British accents, so I never would have thought.
Well. I'm about to push through the Illusive Man's base and Earth for the first time since extended DLC released...
Not even a new game. Just the same save with all the added DLC. Does it change that much? I'm talking leviathan, omega, citadel.

Well, if you already did the DLC then it gave you more War Assets. The EC adds on some scenes and some dialogue parts, but nothing major.

The end still sucks, but it's beating a dead horse at this point.

Hale was pretty terrible half the time in ME2 IMO, but otherwise I like her better.

*ME2 spoilers*
Hale did better in ME1, but I preferred Meer in 2 and 3.

Mark Meer doesn't really sound like a soldier to me, he sounds like just a guy you'd meet
Hale definitely sounds like the badass space bitch she's supposed to be.
Speaking of which, gonna run through the series again on Insanity with a FemSentinel.
Holy fuck 1 is slow. It's been years since I played it, I forgot how slow it is.
[editline]16th March 2013[/editline]
Also FemShep is canonShep
There's way too many white brownhaired handsome soldiers out there, the world needs more badass space bitches who don't take no shit from no one
I know Anita Sarkeesian probably hates FemShep but she's my default.
Also, she can bang Garrus.
That fucking moment when Javik [sp]interjects between Hammerhead and Mako and makes his own Team Prothean[/sp]
no no, that moment where Hammered Javik is talking to Jack is worth the DLC's price alone.
[sp]I must touch you, tatooed human.
"Touch yourself you collector looking asshole!"
that comes after the party[/sp]
