• Mass Effect Megathread: Electronic Skills Still Too Low

Mass Effect down, on to ME2. I had forgotten how good the finale of Mass Effect was. Also bringing Javik with you for that mission is clearly the better choice.
How come there are only so few characters available on the strip? Do I have to complete more missions or do I have to do some with them
I think you invite the rest up to the apartment at some time or another.

No no no i have it. An RTS. Two campaigns, a council campaign and a reaper one. In regular skirmish/online play and what not i'm not sure. Turian team, Quarian team, Asari team? Or all together i don't know. The reaper team has the usual troops, husks, cannibals, marauders and the like. Maybe special heretic geth units? Best unit a small walker reaper. And then heroes, Shepard of course for the alliance, Wrex for the Krogan (Maybe Grunts team as a special unit drop), Liara for asari and the like. Turian assault squad, human engineering corps, asari commando squad, stg unit. Things like that. I think it would be cool.
The famed Ensemble Studios was going to do something for Halo like that. Look how that turned out. I will never trust an RTS adaptation again.
I greatly prefer Meer over Hale as far as renegade voice acting goes (which is what I always play as). I actually like the campy-ness of Meer, it makes the game remind me of 80's action movies full of cheesy one-liners and bad acting. I actually laugh when Meer shoots lines (like the "because it's a big stupid jellyfish" line) but Hale never even makes me smile. I just never really saw Mass Effect as some super serious and deep game. To me, it's just the crazy adventures of Commander Shepard the space pimp, and I feel Meer fills that role much better than Hale can.

I wanna download Alliance Corsair onto my omni tool
Thing is Halo Wars could have been rad... If bases were handled differently... And the campaign made more sense... And it wasn't xbox exclusive.
I'm not sure why a console-exclusive RTS didn't set off more alarms with the devs and MS.
Goddamn. All these Citadel videos feature Shepard in a N7 hoodie. I mean usually casinos let people in dressed like ass, but a high class establishment like that... I can roll with the leather jacket though, that's some pimp shit.
I've played through 1 like 5 times in 2008 when it came out I've been so thoroughly spoiled by 2 and 3 it's nearly impossible to get back into it
I've played through 1 like 5 times in 2008 when it came out I've been so thoroughly spoiled by 2 and 3 it's nearly impossible to get back into it
I loved Mass Effect 1 but compared to today's gameplay mechanics the game has shown its age.
I have no problem with old games I still replay Half Life and the old Silent hills (a.k.a the good ones) but from a design standpoint there's some shitty choices in Mass Effect 1 the power system is really poorly done, one of the worst cover systems you'll ever see and really slow paced combat
The famed Ensemble Studios was going to do something for Halo like that. Look how that turned out. I will never trust an RTS adaptation again.
Halo wars isn't that bad. Microsoft just decided it wasn't worth it any more before it was finished so Ensemble did their best to make what they had a playable game. That said, why it was console exclusive and why they thought halo needed an rts is beyond me.
also if you want proof Jen Hale is a better VA than Meer look up the Citadel Romance with Garrus she's actually got like emotions her voice sounds playful and then when she needs to be threatening she's threatening whereas Meer is one note no matter what he's doing I honestly cannot play MaleShep, his voice is irritating and he has less interesting romance options

Any time I forget to save and then die, I just want to stop playing because I don't feel like it's worth my time to do it again.
I'm playing it again as an Adept and loving every second. The biotics are laughably powerful in ME1.
I'm playing it again as an Adept and loving every second. The biotics are laughably powerful in ME1.
Especially because the Shields/Barriers etc. don't make 90% of your skills useless.
I loved Mass Effect 1 but compared to today's gameplay mechanics the game has shown its age.
The combat is awful compared to ME2 and ME3. I remember first playing ME2 and being shocked by how much better the combat had gotten - it no longer got in the way of storytelling, as in ME1. In ME1, fights felt like a chore, and worse, an annoyance. In ME2 on, they became much more fluid, and I started looking forward to them instead of dreading them. Shooting became much more visceral in ME2, and it turned the combat from awful to great. Lemme just Throw you real quick. Krogan? Warp and Chemical Rounds make quick work. At least there's quicksave.
So for Citadel, [sp] I got done spending time with the first few guys, garrus, cortez, javik, etc. when will the other show up? I got no messages yet.[/sp]
also if you want proof Jen Hale is a better VA than Meer look up the Citadel Romance with Garrus she's actually got like emotions her voice sounds playful and then when she needs to be threatening she's threatening whereas Meer is one note no matter what he's doing I honestly cannot play MaleShep, his voice is irritating and he has less interesting romance options
Except maleshep can romance 4 different women in the same playthrough in ME2 making him ultimate space pimp which is why he lacks emotion. They're just his hoes.
no no, that moment where Hammered Javik is talking to Jack is worth the DLC's price alone. [sp]I must touch you, tatooed human. "Touch yourself you collector looking asshole!" that comes after the party[/sp]
No, no, no, that moment when [sp]you're the first booty Javik has gotten in 50,000 years.[/sp]
SFC has taken the liberty to replay ME1 again Feros: I melee'd all the colonists but for some odd reason, Rana Reynolds I believe just swooned and died for me, I didn't even touch her. It was my only casualty. Another bug was that Hana Murakami got stuck in a wall, and I had to fire at her with my shotgun. She didn't register somehow and she was alive at the ending portion.

Meanwhile in Mass Effect 1 Shepard finds a new outfit that makes him 100% more menacing! [IMG_THUMB]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/541829240044253195/7345FFB0531F110F5518BAC0A401D3CF64086A82/[/IMG_THUMB] ...or not
Only thing that makes ME1 bearable in terms of combat is having lvl10 armor and being lvl60 with spectre weapons. at that point literally nothing can kill you it just... impossible to be killed. then again im playing on casual because I don't play mass effect for combat at all to be honest i could care less, it definitely more entertaining in ME3 and decent in ME2. but playing on casual lvl60 with lvl10 armor and lvl10 weapons in ME1... lol cover? who needs it. powers? who needs it. grenades? who needs it. if you put snowblind rounds on your spectre assault rifle. It never overheats so I just spray and well the rest takes care of itself. the point of the franchise is the story and interactions, combat for this franchise is a feature and not the main purpose in my opinion.
Was there a cover mechanic in ME1? I really don't remember, I always activated marksman and shoot everything with my pistol.
Welp, insert obligatory 'Fuck Kai Leng, where did he come from.'
Except maleshep can romance 4 different women in the same playthrough in ME2 making him ultimate space pimp which is why he lacks emotion. They're just his hoes.
I was playing as pure paragon manshep in ME2, and at one stage I went around my ship and confessed my love to three different women. He sounded so sincere each time that I was almost in tears laughing.
