Finally got my Miranda moments, such a bittersweet ending though.

Where does she show up, after?
Where does she show up, after?
[sp]Yes, after the actual mission is completed. Which is unfortunate, but oh well.[/sp]
Finally extracted on Platinum, twice in a row too, first time against Collectors, the second was against Reapers.
This DLC is fantastic, and hot damn is the art design shining.

Loving every minute of this.
I agree, they actually did some good character animations.
Shepard actually has a somewhat normal looking smile, the expressions are relatively well done, and the movements are more fluid than usual when interacting with objects.
Citadel spoiler:
[sp]The volus pizza delivery man was GOLD.
James: So, who's going to be on point with you?
Wrex: *ahem*
Javik: *ahem*
Tali: *AHEM*
Volus: *Ahem* Who's going to pay the bill?
Awesome
[/sp]
So what happens in the DLC if Wrex is dead?
So what happens in the DLC if Wrex is dead?
The cool factor goes down a lot. Just like any other scene where Wrex isn't there.
So what happens in the DLC if Wrex is dead?
Then it never happens.
So, from what I'm hearing (I just got home, downloading now), Citadel might be one of the best DLC's Bioware has ever done. Anyone here share this sentiment?
uhh no.
It's 100% fancervix and injokes. Yes, they are charming, yes the side dialog and snark is amazing. No, the story is ridiculous and throw away villain is like Kai Leng but somehow even more annoying.
Is it fun? Sure. Is it up to the level of Shadow Broker or Overlord? Not even fucking close.
Okay, just finished the "story" part of this DLC and am now exploring the hub. So far, this is really a 10/10 effort. Just the story took me 2 1/2 hours and I've got a shitload more to do. It's campy, it's charming, it's beautiful, it's well acted...it's just fuckin' great. So far, I'd say it's easily on par with Lair of the Shadow Broker in my opinion, even though the tone is entirely different.

Honestly, the in-jokes and squadmate interactions are the sole reason I bought this DLC. The story is pure camp but that doesn't bother me one bit. I wasn't expecting even a remotely serious story from this; all I was expecting was one last hurrah with the characters we've met, and that's pretty much what we've gotten.
Great banter, great fanservice, and really a good way to end your ME3 experience to give it a well rounded goodbye. Added closure people surely wanted.
It made me relive the glory days of back when we just got the Normandy. Not because of the mission, but because of that warm feeling you got with your old squadies.
"..the best"

I took it as a goodbye to not only that part of the game, but the trilogy as a whole. Great ending sequence, especially with your LI being there.
[sp]Depressing foreshadowing though when Miranda leaves in one direction and Shepard goes the other way, toward the ship.[/sp]
Just finished the DLC (though I missed some stuff) and hot damn. Really lived up to the 4-5 hour runtime though you could probably stretch it to 6-7 with the combat arena and taking your time at the party. And man, if ever there was a DLC where 80% of the lines were quotable, this is the one.
Superb send-off for the series.
The whole premise is fucking ridiculous but also hilarious. I love it.
The whole premise is fucking ridiculous but also hilarious. I love it.
Oh it's completely ridiculous, and the conspiracy plotline is so campy it's almost satirical but you know what? If you go into it with that mindset it works beautifully. Though really, for anyone on the fence, this DLC is all about the characters in every respect. Every single person gets at least 5 moments in the spotlight and it has some of the sharpest character dialogue and banter in the entire trilogy.
Looking on Youtube though, I can't believe how much content I missed. Friggin' 5 hours I played and I've found at least 10 scenes that I completely glossed over.
I have a terrable idea for the citadel DLC, kill wrex in ME1, get everyone killed in in ME2 except 2 sqadmates who are able to die in ME3 even when loyal, (for example; Jack, Miranda, Samara, Morinth, Mordin, Thane) get those killed in ME3, never pick up Javik and kill the virmire survivor.
That will become one depressing party won't it? With just Liara, EDI, Joker and Meathead.
So is Citadel > Shadow Broker?
Wow, suddenly I can sympathise with all the mooks I spammed with biotics
Also, yes
So is Citadel > Shadow Broker?
In terms of main plot? Hell no. Everything else though is at least on-par if not better than LotSB though, though it's important to note that both DLC's have completely different goals and tones. Here's my non-spoiler review of it:
I wish I could just say "Go buy it right now" and leave it at that, but there's far too much that needs to be said about this. The first and probably most important thing about this DLC is to understand what you're getting. This DLC, from start to finish, is 110% about the characters you've grown to know and love and the whole 'conspiracy' subplot is pretty much secondary. Secondly, this DLC is campy as all hell at times, so don't go in expecting something as serious and important to the lore as Lair of the Shadow Broker is.
Those qualifiers out of the way, this DLC is worth every penny and, in my opinion, is as good if not better than LotSB even though the tone is completely different. Every single squadmate gets at least 5 moments in the spotlight (Wrex gets about...50 it seems) and it's very clear that Bioware made this as a total love letter to the universe they created and the fans that supported them. Yes, this means you could easily just call it "Fanservice: The DLC" and be accurate, but it works out fine here.
Here's what's important though. This DLC provides closure for Shepard and Co. in a way that the base game could never accomplish. Character threads are tied up, final goodbyes are given, and in the truest sense the whole thing gives an undeniable sense of family and camaraderie between the entire crew. By the time the DLC ended, I was grinning from ear to ear and I can genuinely say that my love for the series has been rekindled.
I could go more into detail but I don't want to bore anyone or spoil anything, so I'll just leave you with this:
- In my first playthrough of this DLC, I played on "Narrative" difficulty and apparently missed a great deal of character content, yet it still took me a full 5 hours to "complete," and that includes only a single match in the Combat Arena.
- This is easily the funniest and most heartwarming DLC Bioware has ever done. Half the lines are completely quotable, and for the first time ever in the series I literally burst out laughing and later had to hold back some tears.
- Looking at the structure of this, it seems that it's best to play the "Conspiracy" portion immediately after the Cerberus attack on the Citadel (or after Rannoch if you want Tali for that part). This leaves you the rest of the game up until the attack on the Cerberus HQ to explore the brand new hub, and spend some time with characters. Don't throw the party until you're ready to go into the endgame.
- The art design is superb, and the level/combat design is some of the best in the series and it also has THE best boss fight.
- Make sure you save your game right before throwing the party so you can experience all the possibilities.
I know this sounds like fanboy raving (and to some extent it might be), but I honestly think this is a 10/10 effort from Bioware. Everything about it was so clearly polished and lovingly made that I can't help but be impressed by it. If you go into it with the right mindset and want to have a final hurrah with all your ingame friends, this DLC is easily the most fulfilling one they've made, and it's definitely got the most bang for your buck.
I think I'm going to go throught the series fully again, and pick up some of the dlc this time.
When I started 3 I had to make a new save, as my old ones were on my old pc, so it felt weird characters not being there that I wouldn't have let go.
Me and JeanLuc were up all night (NO) playing it. Okay, I played all night, and needled JeanLuc about having to reinstall everything. But the last time I stayed up all the night to play a video game it was for Mass Effect 3. Poetic, that I should do the same for the last DLC
Right, I'm definitely getting Citadel.
Well got everything ready and waiting for the dlc, I've got two saves with different outcomes so I can't wait to see the difference.
On a related note on multiplayer I came to witness a collector adept who was shouting out Harbinger quotes, I won't ever forget the time he revived me and said "I am directing this personally"

It was.
So I'm playing roulette but I have no idea how to stop playing, where is the god damn exit button?

I got stuck there too

Grunt and Wrex repeatedly saying Shepard was probably my favorite.
