Albeit they're not demands, just tips. Even if someone with a nickname like "|16th|SLAG|teh geemanxd|" adds me and his Steam profile is a complete fucking mess, if I met him before on a server or something and he acted cool I don't mind it. I just know that Steam profiles should tell something about yourself and I try to tell what I like and don't like...in a way.
