I can (surprisingly) somewhat vouch on you for this. Although I have to admit, out of 100-esque friends a scarce five are bronies. But hey, not all of you are bad.
It's more a matter of not caring if a friend of yours watches a cartoon dedicated to a younger audience. As long as they don't scream it off the rooftops, quite frankly, I don't see why one should have to care. It would be dangerously close to "stop liking what I don't like", and quite simple bigotry. Naturally, the worse ones leave the biggest impression, as in any social branch or group. It's usually defined by the most loud-mouthed ones or the ones that deviate from 'normal' the most.
