Also I'm having issues having a single switch or lever operating a double door set, its like one door will function perfectly and the other will be unresponsive even if I use a switch per door? If anyone has a solution let meh know!

When started only a pre-selected people would be allowed into the server. Those people would work on a small village with a wall around it. Once that was set up, the server would be opened up.
As for killing/griefing. It would not be allowed in the city walls. If more people settled in they city then there was room, a joint project would start where people would get materials and once day break hit, work fast to expand the outer wall. Within the city walls there will be no killing, stealing, or griefing of any type. As many people as they want can settle in the city. We also talked about setting up a "hotel" where it has many small rooms where people can stay and keep their stuff until they get enough to build a house in the city, or travel off.
If you decide to go outside of the city limits you are willing putting yourself at risk from robberies and killings. You cannot complain about either of those.
What we talked about that would be a defining line between killing and griefing would be: Non griefing = killing someone to steal something, destroying part of their base to kill/steal from them, or a hostile take over of their base.
Griefing would be = destruction of their base just to destroy, killing just to kill them. killing them and then destroying their base for no reason. Constant destroying of their supplies (wheat farm, local trees) without any intent but to annoy them.
We also talked about how there will be people who you can go to if you are tired of someone stealing from you, or you get angry from getting killed once, and hire them to kill someone and steal your possessions back.
Killing/stealing from someone then running to your home in the city will be considered griefing. Doing this will give the people in the city the right to kill you if they want. Certain groups (such as ninjas, or pirates) can take over outer-city settlements if they want to try.
I decided to start a group. I also decided that if somebody is living by themselves, or with a couple of other people and dont want to RP (i.e. they cannot kill other players or steal from them) my group will leave them alone. Although if a large group of people decided to start turfwars with eachother with castle and stuff, then they are fair play. It will be up to other groups if they want to attack small settlements. But doing it constantly just because they are easy prey should be considered griefing.
The "government" of the city will be nothing more than OPs or admins that will listen to complaints of people who dont want to handle things with mercenaries, or are seriously being griefed. The admins or OP can then decide to ban the person, or just warn them.
we also talked about having a password on the minecraft megathreads that people have to give to get in. That way it will stay an FP server.
Mind you I am not telling you guys to do this. Im just informing you of what we have talked about.

Also what system specs are needed to host a server? I have 2 really old computers not being used. I could set them up as servers if they can run it.
