I haven't played Minecraft for a while, and I'm not reading through hundreds of pages to get an answer to this. Where has saving and loading from files gone? Where has changing the world type gone? I'm sorry if I'm being stupid and overlooking something.

My suggestion about the city: 1) find a good location with for city (near river/lake) 2) Build a central square and townhall and allow (or sell land) people to build their houses there 3) Start building castle in nearby hill/island 4) Build citywalls and infranstructure (aqueducts, sewers, roads, canals, tracks) 5) Allow city to expand outside of them 6) Build another citywalls and infranstructure.
