Slow torrent speeds and I can't use any of the download links, cool!
One of the downloads shut down due to being overloaded, the others are now pending.
Installing... YES... YEEESSSS!
Cool, went to dinner and the download speeds are up now. Awesome. lotsa seeds too.
2 hour download on torrent here and only at 150 KB/s.
Fucking lucky bastards... I've been at it for 3 hours now and it is only at 48.6%... my internet is good too. What gives! [editline]10:48PM[/editline] Done!
Only 20 minutes. I'll leave this uploading for all those still downloading for like 12 more hours.
I envy you. Fucking P4 and 1650x AGP.
I envy you. Fucking P4 and 1650x AGP.
Agreed. Crysis needs: 1: Optimisation 2: Optimisation 3: More descriptive graphics options. (Volumetric effects could be practically anything.)
This makes me glad I have my new computer with a i7 and 5750.
This makes me glad I have my new computer with a i7 and 5750.
I gotta get some money damnit!
Wow I hate Gamespy. It refuses to recognize the account I use with it. I had to make a new account, then the game crashed. So I have to relogin, refuses to recognize the NEW account I just made.

After playing all night, I can say safely that This game is fucking tits! I haven't had this much fun on any game online or off in months! It's beautiful, can run it max settings, and it seems well balanced. I do well at it, usually at the top of the board. The only thing they need to fix is the crashing. Played for 3 hours, crashed about 5-6 times. Fix the crashing, fix the lag, and you have yourself one hell of a game right here. Even with those things it is really fun!
Crashing could be due to: 1. Too much random files laying around in your crysis directory... you can minimize crashing by having a clean crysis install and MWLL on top of it. 2. Clear your shader cache. It's located in My Documents -> My Games -> Crysis -> Shaders. Delete everything in this folder. The game will now rebuild them when you start up again. 3. Try running on low sound settings. Also if you crash, the server will remember your rank/cbills so you don't lose progress. Kind of a crutch but it's better than nothing at the moment.
3. Try running on low sound settings.
blasphemy!
I got it but now it kicks me from every god damned server before it loads. [editline]03:49AM[/editline] Ok, after reinstalling the entirety of punkbuster and updating it and trying about 1500 times it doesn't kick me anymore. It just freezes soon as it loads. This is awesome!
How awesome this game looks makes me have to type in bold. Yes motherfuckers. Bold. But seriously, watching the trailer, this looks fucking fantastic.
It IS fucking fantastic aside from the crashing. Maybe I'll find some people who want to get some teamwork going.
It IS fucking fantastic aside from the crashing. Maybe I'll find some people who want to get some teamwork going.
I once saw team work going on. Unfortunately five seconds later I was raped by 4 enemy mechs at the same time. Thats teamwork for ya.
Can you guys somehow get rid of punkbuster and use something that is aimed against cheaters and not the regular user instead?
Finally got Crysis patched, extracting the mod and preparing to play!
Can you guys somehow get rid of punkbuster and use something that is aimed against cheaters and not the regular user instead?
Punkbuster is disabled on most of the servers I go to for MWLL.
Yes but there is some level of client-side anti-cheat. I kept getting kicked from servers due to the amount of raw files I left hanging around my crysis install directory. Upon reinstalling in a completely clean folder, then putting the mod on, and after doing the steps above, reduced the amount of times I get kicked and crash 10 fold.
It's a shame about the crashing and the sounds, but the game is awesome.
yeah, it sure is fucking good. so much content! and they have managed to make the environments alien and look like they are from another planet, which is good
Holy crap something is running hot on my comp. 56 degrees while running Crysis. CPU cores are running around 40-43 degrees.
Crash tips from me:
Try running the game in DX9. To do this, go to your MWLL shortcut (aka make a shortcut for crysis, right click the shortcut and go to properties and in the "Target" line at the end put the following without quotes: "-mod mwll -dx9" You can also try running on low sound settings or trying lower-player count servers. I have a feeling the large amount of sounds being played from weapons etc overloads crysis a bit and might cause crashes depending on your OS/Soundcard. Also, before you play MWLL remember to delete your shader cache. To do this go to My Documents -> My Games -> Crysis -> Shaders and delete everything in that folder. When you start MWLL the next time, the game will rebuild your shaders. It might help to know that I've NEVER gotten 64bit crysis to work. So try running the mod using 32bit crysis (running as an admin or in compatability mode if it still causes crashes). That said there are a good amount of people having serious issues with Crysis 1.21 and the latest updates to windows 7... nothing we can do about that unless Crytek decides to do a hotfix. Oh... and try disabling your SLI. That might also cause isssues. Don't forget to update drivers!
If you crash on load try:
Go into the mods -> mwll -> game -> localized -> video folder inside the crysis root folder. Remove both of the files in that folder to be outside the Crysis directory (or delete them). See if that works. If that doesn't work try doing the same (removing or deleting) your crysis profiles as they might be corrupted. They are located in My Documents -> My Games -> Crysis -> Profiles. Delete/remove both of them. Go into normal crysis to rebuild it, then quit. Then, install the MWLL actionmaps into the profile as detailed in the installation instructions. Try running the mod now.
I still crash after about 15-20 minutes. I've tried every method I've run across such as deleting the shaders folder, sound quality to low, and running in DX9 mode. Oh well, it's good for brief bursts of super fun elemental combat :P

I'm finding my joystick and mic to have some real fun.
Before I reinstall Crysis, does this game have voice chat or no?
Before I reinstall Crysis, does this game have voice chat or no?
I believe it does.
