Why is the running speed so damn slow, I can't make a simple 1 foot jump.
Quite good work. Great job with the wasteland look.
The part after when you kill the antlion guard and get the bugbait was confusing. I went wrong way from the boat, jumped from a 6ft tall cliff and died instantly. Also, a part inside the depot would be cool.

Just remember though, it was the beta and depot was a tech demo at the time at e3
hell, when you load the map "e3_depot" on the HL2 Beta, it says "Wasteland Combat" with game_text after a fade in :v:
Thank you all for your opinion, I want to say a couple things:
1) I feel a need in a patch - fix map holes, add some kind of light in a submarine (it can be a bit problematic, because whole sub is a model with a lot of models inside), etc...
2) make navigation in wasteland more "friendly".
And i've got a question: what if "bad navigation" is not my fail, what if it was planned? I wanted to make player feel himself like he is really in wasteland, not in a corridor. Yes, it's not like original HL gameplay style. Yes, no obvious indication (but I think, when you see a giant submarine or island among wasteland, you know where you should go?..). (SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!) I wanted to bring some "exploration" gameplay, and add some hidden things (do you find hollow stone with two levels? or seamine? do you pass wasteland in most short way, by oilpipe?)
Waiting for your comments!
What I mean is, while I enjoy exploration, a lot of the players are (No offence to you guys!) absolutely stupid, and usually need some indication of where to go.
It doesn't have to be a sign. Valve often used lights and sound to direct the player. If the player hears a strange noise, they'll often go looking for it, same with lights. Players are attracted to the light, which is why it can be used in a variety of different ways. In Half-Life, we've become used to certain lights being used as cues. If you see a light-blue, you know this isn't a place you can rest, as cold blues often indicate the combine. (That's not always the case, but the majority of time, it is.)
Music also could be pretty useful. In the submarine, I think having a few more of the sinister Hl2 tracks could be very well.
The first view of the depot you get is amazing, by the way, you've done really well visually, but it just lacks in pacing and gameplay.
Was it me, or was the submarine really dark even with the flashlight?
What I meant was that there were clipping brush placement errors around the outside of the submarine, some parts I could walk right through a supposed "solid" wall.

I like it, though the darkness on the submarine is a little excessive. Though it might have done with some more wreckage in the wasteland, feels more like a rocky maze. Maybe go for a more sandy color than what you have now.
It's from the Dark Interval mod

If HL2 came out looking like this back in 04 I think I would have shunned all other games
There is no ammo anywhere, and I am currently at the Gunship with no rockets, isn't this fun.
Did you go to the lighthouse?
Did you go to the lighthouse?
No
Go there
Yeah but there's a gunship and I can't run any faster than 2 inches an hour
You can doo it
I only got 19 heath pls no
Its not all THAT hard.
Do you really need EP2 for the mod? Will HL2 + Source SDK & SDK Base 2007 work?
I have Episode 2, however, it's not installed. And I'm not really willing to install a game for a mod.
Do you really need EP2 for the mod?
Yes, mod is use some Ep2 resources and runs on Ep2 engine
The scenery is really good. That's all :|

So I used the installer twice now and the game doesn't appear.

Check installation path, and dont forget restart Steam. Also, Episode Two should be installed and runned at least once time.

EP2 is installed, I double-checked the folder, and I did restart Steam.

Trying the archive now.
For whatever reason an older Scourcemod I have installed doesn't show up in my library either.
I tried it and i really like it, though if youre used to something like the Mission Impossible maps, or had a recent playthrough of half life 2, It becomes apparent that its quite lacking. The environment is very well structured, and i dont think the pacing, at least combat wise, is as bad as the other people here make it sound.
But there are some significant gripes, such as the pitch black submarine interior and caves. I see some holes i the displacements here and there and static props that hover in the air.
At some points its quite difficult to figure out where the hell youre supposed to go, as there arent that many visual cues. If the goal was to create a map on par with valve's work. Id say you are halfway through the process. I feel like i want to praise you more but it really leaves quite abit of room for improvement.
Please keep mapping, as you are, or is getting, quite good at it.
I can only agree that it's at times hard to figure out where to go, especially in the Submarine.
Also, the game lacks auto-save points in my opinion.

Yes, today I clearly understand this, watching PlanetPhillip's playthrough :D

while you're at it ditch the submarine's lame and pointless hallways with actual rooms

I think it's stupid to flaunt how there are multiple ways to get through the wasteland, while the one I took just managed to get me nowhere with a boss that I had no way of defeating because it is forcing you to go to the light house first.
Everything else is pretty good though.
Id like it also to have part inside the depot.
Something based to beta map "wasteland_depot_inside".
