Ohgodohgodohgod I just bought SR3 on steam(I can't wait to play it)but then literally seconds after it began downloading I realised I'd rather play it on my Xbox aaaah Edit:Nevermind it's goddamn amazing like this, much better than it would be on my Xbox
Since there's no SR2 thread (or it's so fucking old, which means writing there counts as necropost), I'll ask here. I have Live version of Saints Row 2 = shitty unpatched crap plus no support of Powertools. The question is - is there something I can do to have Saints Row 2 on Steam? Option "buy another copy" is fucking insulting, why the fuck I should pay twice.
Isn't Saint's Row 2 steam only? Can't you just input your cd key into steam then?
Why would you rather play it on your Xbox?
Ease of control I guess Plus it's a bit easier to put your XBox somewhere comfortable like a sofa than it is with a PC
Isn't Saint's Row 2 steam only? Can't you just input your cd key into steam then?
No, it also sells on Live and from some other distributors who also sell non-steam version (GamersGate for example). And no, the key which Live provides isn't working in Steam.
Why don't you just install the patches then?
Why don't you just install the patches then?
There are no standalone patches. The only way to be at the final 1.2 is owning the Steam version. Also, the Gamersgate key does install on Steam. It's only the GFWL one that doesn't.
Wow they really did not give a shit about the PC version did they

Who the fuck is that teleporting ninja bitch, she's with some gang who are all dressed in blue. In Saints Row 3. How the fuck do you kill her, stupid hoe.
Who the fuck is that teleporting ninja bitch, she's with some gang who are all dressed in blue. In Saints Row 3. How the fuck do you kill her, stupid hoe.
Deckers' specialist. Shoot at her during her sliding sequences or grab when she's near.
Deckers' specialist. Shoot at her during her sliding sequences or grab when she's near.
Explosive pistol rounds are amazing for stopping them I find. Along with like, every other anything in the game ever. Holy shit they are useful.
Who the fuck is that teleporting ninja bitch, she's with some gang who are all dressed in blue. In Saints Row 3. How the fuck do you kill her, stupid hoe.
Crotch punch when she's close will drop her like a brick.
Alright thanks guys, I'll grab her and throw her into oncoming traffic.

I mean, I don't need that shitty Live version, and I'm not going to pay twice for one game.

If you want it on Steam fully patched and the ability to use Powertools, then you have to buy it. There's no magic alternate way around that. The bottom line is that you need to come to terms with the fact that you bought a fucked up and crippled version of an already fucked up and crippled game. I'd personally just wait for a sale. It goes on sale all the time for $5. The following choices give you a Steam key: * Buy it directly on Steam * Amazon boxed retail * Amazon digital download * Gamersgate NOTE: D2D used to have it and their key also installed on Steam, but they are now a new service with IGN so all bets are off.

You'll lock her into your many "special" take down animations and when she's on the ground you can shoot her. Besides, PC version gets an extra DLC consoles don't.

Before I had the BSoD issue (But still ran at 15 fps) on my first play, I thought the one takedown was funny, so I took a screenshot of it.

Spray across their path and watch as they dash into their buddies, lighting everybody on fire.
Explosive pistol rounds are amazing for stopping them I find. Once I got both the pistols to 4 I stopped having a reason to use anything other than those fragmenting rounds, since they seem to trump everything from riot shields to helicopters.

I'd much rather have explosive rounds, incendiary rounds, or an obscene magazine size (in the case of the ARs). Although the accuracy of those guns was pretty good, I still found the more fun upgrades to work better at most ranges anyway.
Though dual-wielded armor piercing SMGs own Hunters in Super-Ethical Reality Climax
Ah yes, I remember using them fondly to take out the hunters, though I found out later that you could almost instantly drop a hunter by unloading a minigun into their faces point blank.

Does a very nice job of wasting everybody in a vehicle before they can get out, and seems to have a tighter spread than the Tek. Plus there's an appeal to the whole "cloud of needles" thing. The issue with the Kobra is, it doesn't really work in any situations except those riding shotgun activities, where the accuracy and penetration justify it for shooting out drivers and snipers quickly. Once you're done with that, you never really need it again. Maybe it's just me, I sorta like the accurate weapons to have some sort of reward for requiring a bit more finesse than bullet hoses, and all the accurate stuff in this feels like it got the short end of the stick. Kobra cannot into crowd control, cop shotty is just useless, AR-55 needs mods to not suck, and the sniper rifle stops being useful after the assassinations.

It's kind of annoying unloading an entire magazine of explosive pistol rounds because it just isn't hitting the right person, just so you can stop the car. Though when upgraded the police shotgun is fucking amazing. Fully automatic, high power, relatively tight cone of fire and a bitching fast reload. Destroys a car in under a magazine normally. It's so useless before that final upgrade though.

If it's within shotty range, well, that's why god invented the level 4 molotov. Granted, they all pale in comparison to la escopeta del tiburon, but at least the other two have some anti-dude use.
I'm glad I got gentlemen of steelport,I thought it was dumb that the genkimobile removed hats, even though it had no roof. It makes wearing the genki hat even better
Gentlemen of Steelport v1.0 Beta 2a bugfix release http://idolninja.com/blog/?p=1459 Fixes some minor Gangstas in Space bugs like missing weapon audio on the Scythe and the wrong UI hud weapon icon, and also... the big one that everyone's been waiting for... heli customization!
