Whoa that was a year ago? Feels like a couple of months. wierd
Yeah, last year on April fools' day, they released that video. Also, I had a thought: If this isn't a DLC/expansion, it might be a prototype story for Saints Row 4 that they're teasing to see about reactions. Remember, they did confirm it already and that it would be "wilder" than Saints Row 3.

Saints Row 2 had a perfect balance of believability and over the top stuff. Saints Row the Third was just nonstop crazy, which actually ended up taking away from the shock. It's no fun surfing on a jet in a furry suit if that's what happens for the entire game.

Also you can at least make a character who can be taken seriously, which was a huge bonus in my book. I was pleasantly surprised to see that not all of the missions were jetsurfing in a fursuit. With some exceptions, the missions (to me) felt just about in line with SR2's brand of missions.

The way he just grew completely fucking dark with that line. "Get up."
I think SR2 is the best of the series.
Agreed [editline]2nd April 2012[/editline] Also is the mission shown in the video the last ronin misson? Because a new one isn't showing up for me
It's not the last one.
I think SR2 is the best of the series.
Assuming SR4 isn't amazingly good.
Agreed [editline]2nd April 2012[/editline] Also is the mission shown in the video the last ronin misson? Because a new one isn't showing up for me
You have to do the strongholds to unlock the last mission.

Also, no offense, but that person deserved it, interrupting a funeral of the person who you ordered to kill if she resisted? And being a jackass overall? SR4 should try to be a little more serious, or darker, or both, but have the crazy shit optional.
Honestly I'm pretty worried about the fate of saints row. The whole "lol silly" theme was fun at first but they're taking it way too far. Not to mention they almost completely fucked over the storyline with SR3. Unless SR3 ends up being a movie or dream, I really can't see how they'll fix this mess. I loved SR3 but they made some of the worst decisions possible, story-wise.
Should I try creating Max Payne, with his constipated face and all? [img_thumb]http://www.sg.hu/kep/2001_09/max_payne_bemutato_01.jpg[/img_thumb]
I fail to see how SR4 could be any good without Gat. With the voice actor not doing that role anymore. :( And they should get Shaundi to smoke some fucking doobies, she was way better in SR2
I didn't want SR3 to be so overly "lol random over-the-top". For example, the apoca-fists are fun to use for about 30 seconds.
I didn't want SR3 to be so overly "lol random over-the-top". For example, the apoca-fists are fun to use for about 30 seconds.
I thought the Apoca-Fists sucked because of how they just instantly disintegrated whoever you punched with the same canned effect. If there was some actual gore or something they might be more enjoyable.
I would prefer if they launched people into the air rather than making them explode into a cloud of blood. Either way i went with the mask and i never really used that one either.
I wish it tipped cars and sent them flying too. Instantly exploding cars isn't very exciting.

For example, the apoca-fists are fun to use for about 30 seconds.
Yeah, but stuff like the apoca-fists was optional. I always make the story-wise sound choice and [sp]unmask that douchebag Killbane.[/sp] For the most part SR3 felt like an over-the-top action movie to me, with the actual craziness relying mostly on user input. I wish they'd kept with SR2's style of craziness where the game mechanics coupled with the AI made some very strange scenes, like a hooker and an old lady beating the shit out of a cop with fire hydrants.
I miss trains.
Ah well, all we can do is hope Saints Row 4 will be better, gameplay wise, audio wise, and story wise. Until then I'd say, Idolninja's mod is the replacement for the stuff missing / lacking in Saints Row 3. I can't wait until it comes out because it seriously makes it worth a 2nd or even 3rd playthrough, at least that's how I felt for saints row 2's Gentlemen of The Row.
I miss trains.
I miss pedestrian-driven boats and airplanes. The lack if boats really made the ocean in SR3 pointless. There aren't even any far off islands to explore anymore.
I like SR2 better just because you can pick stuff up and use it to fight
I like SR2 better just because you can pick stuff up and use it to fight
Seeing an army of pimps fight off the cops with street signs ripped out of the ground was hilarious.
I miss pedestrian-driven boats and airplanes. The lack if boats really made the ocean in SR3 pointless. There aren't even any far off islands to explore anymore.
I would have enjoyed boats a lot if they actually had access to the existing land. I mean, barring a few areas, there are only a few slopes, few piers, and a few docked watercraft, so on the whole they're not really viable for escaping the police, and excluding a couple exposed roads, they're not useful for attacking anything either. If they'd have just raised the water level a bit and added more sloped edges and docked boats, I'd be happy. What really strikes me as a waste is the complete absence of stuff to do in planes. Like, races, air strikes with the Thunderbolt, whatever. As is the hanger just sorta exists, and there's no particular use for anything in it because of the VTOL, like they added it before they knew that was the direction they were going to take with the game.
Had a dream where the Dominatrix DLC was real, at least, I think. It added the Compton back, and there was a cutscene where the boss and Pierce were arguing, and Shaundi chimes in with, "Jesus, you guys need to chill out once in a while. Smoke a blunt or something."
At this point we can only dream. God I want those superpowers back, and a alien anal probe. Fuck you April Fools...
I like SR2 better just because you can pick stuff up and use it to fight
Melee fighting is generally a lot better in SR2.
that mission in SR2 early game when you had to destroy those hobos shacks took me ages I still to this day have no idea how to destroy them aside from flinging fire hydrants at them repeatedly
