How would they continue the series if they decided to? It was a tough job making something fit for SR3 when [sp]you own a whole damn city[/sp], giving you access to a shit load of recourses. They can't pull the same trick twice though. Perhaps something where the Saints get busted, or the leader framed, or even the leader gets replaced by a clone/someone that had plastic surgery [sp]like you did in SR3[/sp].
First spoiler is SR2, second is SR3.

they might go with that theory someone had that the entire game was just a propaganda film made by the Saints, explaining why there was so little moral deviance and it seemed to be focused on making everything more zany and out-there
it's a bit optimistic but it's what I hope they'll do
This is actually really good news, for me at least. Saints Row 3 just took it way too far. Especially the sexualization of women. The fact that most of the buildings long the street have gigantic tits on them just gets old so quickly, and it just seems so wrong. Funny at first, yeah, but it's like laughing at a kid in a wheelchair when he tips over - it's just wrong on so many levels.
I'm not sure I agree. I like the whacky direction it goes, to me it feels like Saint's Row the Third is what Postal 3 and Duke Nukem Forever tried to be, but both of those games failed. The over the top moments easily made some of my favorite coop moments of all time and I would like to see the franchise continue to create memorable moments for me and my pals. I will admit that the game straddles the line, but I don't think it once crossed it.
[sp]Specifically, cooping the exploding sex slave pony cart race was my favorite gaming moment in the past few months.[/sp]
To be fair I still haven't beaten it, so I probably shouldn't even be saying this. I only just bought it recently during the 66% off Steam sale. I enjoy a good story as much as the next guy, but so far I've been enjoying this game orders more than I've been enjoying GTA IV. I feel dirty comparing them.
I don't mind if the events of SR3 end up being canon or not (though it would be nice if they weren't), just as long as [sp]Gat returns to normal[/sp] I'll be happy.
As long as male voice 01 returns ill be happy. He did a brilliant job, and imo, helped push the humor.
They had such a great default mc. First time in awhile I didnt edit the default sliders. Was the perfect character, cannot be improved.
I don't mean specifically jokes pertaining to giant purple dildos, I mean that kind of humor where it's "LOL LOOK GOES HOES AND PIMPS, AREN'T WE ZANY?!?!?!?"
I don't mean to be a dick but it would help if you could be specific, because I, again, have no idea what you're referring to. Prostitution is a common subject in games about crime. The jokes in SR3 seemed to be about people, or subversions of prostitution like the assassins, not a general sense of "lol hookers"
But I'm not a "Saints Row fan" so maybe I simply fail to understand something here. SR1 was a knockoff in my mind. SR2 was "that thing with the poo jokes my little brother plays". Third's the first that looked like more than a GTA wannabe with some crude humor. Though I plan on giving 2 another chance, so maybe I'll take that back. Might be some hidden maturity to throwing people into jet turbines I didn't pick up on the first time.

It's not like you own the world, just a couple cities. Stories about hitting the west coast basically write themselves.
[editline]1[/editline]
Weird. If I set my gang to be entirely space saints, nobody spawns, and the streets get reoccupied by enemy gangs.
heres to hoping he recognizes sr2 and makes 4 more like it
just with caucasian, hispanic, ghetto, and british accents
at the same time
All they needed to do was SR2 + 1
Fix the shitty pc port, fix the god awful graphics and control issues with cars and they could have paved a solid road to a amazing game.
SR3 was great but if they went with adding onto 2 by adding new features and fixing the old it would have been the perfect game.
I really missed the serious parts of Saints Row
The Carlos scene could bring a manly tear to your eye and the cemetery ass kicking by Gat was just pure concentrated awesome.
The epic parts of 3 were more like
"LETS TAKE A FUCKIN TANK OUT OF A PLANE, WOOooOOoOoOoO AMERICUH"
Fun and enjoyable but not 'epic'
The only thing I don't want to see in a Saints Row Sequel is a turn to GTA-style seriousness. Having fun as an unstoppable gang leader in an incompetent and often mentally-unsound city is what makes this series more than just a GTA clone. If they want to get wacky, fine, but at least try to do more strengthening with the story.
Also, I don't really know about what I want them to do with the whole Gat thing. I'd like to see him back, but I don't know how they can do it within reason. The only big options I've been seeing is SR3 being non-canon (Might annoy some people, but it could work), Tag getting Gat's mind and perhaps a steroid intervention, or Gat turning out to have survived Loren's plane (I like the idea of him possibly turning against the Saints just to be a classic gang member again)
Also, if they want to find some way of getting the Saints to return to the "rise to the top again" dynamic, we still have the plotline of Dex's status to settle. I could easily see him trying to get something together to stop the Saints, possibly as a story of him "setting right what once went wrong" and end the gang he used to serve, now far larger and dangerous than he possibly dreamed. Basically taking Julius's view.
Though, since the player is always playing as the Saints's boss, things wouldn't end well for him...

Since he's the guy who voices Alec and Darius Mason, maybe we'll get a Red Faction tie-in like that somehow. The default face looks like a Mason already if you give him the shaved head. Even just a little reference would be fine by me, like the main character somehow either goes to Mars for real or starts a revolutionary group.

The Red Faction Franchise is dead and buried Armageddon killed it stone dead
tbh I hope they just work towards making SR3 Enter the Dominatrix fun and interesting rather than try and fail to make any sort of good or coherent story
When are the steam summer sales supposed to start? I missed the 66% off a few weeks ago and I want to buy it.

They made a little reference to it in Gangstas in Space in the studio, there's a prop of the heavy lifting mech and the Boss wants a real one. That's really all I'm hoping for. Also, I can't be the only person who thought Armageddon was actually pretty good, can I?

I thought Armageddon had some good things in it, but it sorta failed
Armageddon was a god awful game.
The only thing I really dislike about saints row is that you don't really get a build up to fight the morning star like you do with the Deckers and Luchadores 2nd mission you already fuck half of them up and the leader who I forgot his name which goes to show how important he is already is really wounded.
Then a few missions later you just go into his giant building and kill more of his gang fight a few brutes then crush him with a ball,no epic brawl with him ,no escape and wanting to find him later it's just "Oh yay he's dead now what?"
Honestly he's like the Johnny Gat of the bad guys, you see him in the teaser trailer looking like a main antagonist of the saints but no he gets killed off almost instantly and the twins were pretty boring they were just eye candy but weren't any evil leader types.
Tip for saints row 2 players
Turn off HDR, I did today and the game looks much better

Awww what? That's pretty disappointing, considering I found Zimos's voice to be fucking hilarious.

That's my 'that sounds so awesome, and I'm incredibly disappointed' sound.

Along with the pimp cane I legit thought this was going to be the Zimos/Pimp DLC
I was HEAVILY disappointed.
Wouldn't surprise me if they did make the voice a DLC sometime now.

And once again I lament the lack of proper mod support, since you'd see some actual worthwhile content made if it had it.
The worst part about the Witches and Wieners dlc is tht everything was either in the game already, or just a reskin just like every other dlc. Even the witches' broom is just a broom model replacing the Specter.
