I FUCKING LOVE YOU MAN.
I remember a game I used to play on NES. It was a side-scrolling robot game where you jump and shoot mostly, The first level had some normal robots against you and the second level had robot dogs, If I remember correctly. The terrain was pretty simple looking and only colors it had was white and blue.
Dear guys,
I used to play an interesting tank game, but I can't remember its name.
It was an 2D PC game, appearing in 2003 or earlier, due to its graphics. Its feature is that the tank has to kill a boss every 6 levels (The tank kills a boss at level 6, 12, 18, 24 ... and so on.)
The tank's bomb looks like both smoke and an ugly white flower with a blank core.
The tank's health is presented at the bottom of the screen, and is longer as the tank improves.
Please help me find that game. Thanks so much.
I remember this game which was (what i assume to be) an unofficial Dragonball z game, where you played as characters from the show. the terrain was destructible, and afaik everything was sort of cell shaded. And it was free (?)
I know that this will be a hard nut to crack.
Back in my youth in the 90's, I remember playing a sidescrolling shoot'em up on the Commodore 64. It was kinda like Scramble, but not isometric. Only horizontal. It was more like 2.5D like with Double Dragon where you could move into the background. You had a little spacecraft and shot down enemy stuff. It had nice graphics for a C64 game.
I already searched around the major C64 games sites, but they don't seem to have every game that ever existed on that platform.
Game #1
I remember one old PC singleplayer game with a bird's eye view where you played as a blue (maybe blue?) robot. You could select planets to explore. The one image that marked my brain is of a big spacecraft that had already crashed into a planet and all the debris was in front of the little robot. The name of the game COULD be something similar to "Earthbound". The camera mechanics were like A Link To The Past, staying at one scenario until you went off the camera limits into another scenario. Then it would pan into the other scenario.
Also, I'm not sure, I think you could shoot rockets of some sort. The robot resembled MechWarrior a lot, I guess.
And the music was fucking ungodly amazing.
Game #2
I'm sure this other PC game is somehow related to MechWarrior. It was one where you would select your mech, and use the six keys above the arrow keys (on a normal USB keyboard - End, Home, Pageup, Pagedown and such) to shoot rockets and bullets. Graphics were like in between PS1 and PS2.
Something that really makes me remember it are the little bars that faded from green to red beside a 2D schematic view of your mech. That could be in the mech selection menu.

If you find any of these, FP, I will love you forever.

Also, I played both of them on either Windows Millenium or XP. Probably on, like, 2003-2007.

Earthsiege 1/2 ?
Although both of them are quite older than 03/07
The other one was also on one of those CDs, but I don't remember as much. It was a flying game, but with RC planes. There were a handful of planes, and I remember one stage clearly where you'd start at a small playground, and you could fly your plane into a small city area.
Possibly Airfix Dogfighter

Lemming Ball Z
There was a space flight simulator that had a thread in GGD a while back with pretty good graphics and the ability to land on planets. Anyone know what it was called?

Infinity: The Quest for Earth?
Just got some sorta flashback to two 6-10 year old flash games, obviously hard to figure out just by description.
1. A side-scrolling game where you play as a dog, think it was called Doggy or something like that, I remember some of the enemies were rattling teeth, and I think there was a candy level. Think it stole some elements from Super Mario but would still be incredibly nostalgic to play again.
2. A side-scrolling skateboarding game, don't have much information on this one, except that it's not far from being as old as the internet itself.

I'm not sure, those look really familiar.
You might have just found it, thanks!
I'm trying to remember a game for ps1, and all I can remember is part of what I think is the beginning, where you're in a forest on like a cliff or something and a huge blue dragon or something walks by.
If I'm remembering correctly, there was also a part where you zipline or something into a tower, and another part where you have to sneak by some guards or something, and something happens and they call you a bastard.
Great description, I know. Lots to go off of :v:
So, I actually found the game I was talking about. How unexpected.
Is there a part where you try to cross a gap using a fallen tree, but instead the tree falls through the gap?
I don't remember it, I can't remember jack shit about it besides what I already said, sorry.
But if you give me the name of the game you're talking about, I can check.
Well I have no idea what game I'm talking about, I just vaguely remember that and it sounds like it could also be in the game your talking about
Let's get started, shall we?
Gonna go ahead and bump this. This is what I've got:
it was a room escape game, it was unfinished, it had two levels, main character was a girl, it had an inventory, the second level was in a jungle, there was a surprise ending at the second level, and the guy who made the game made a blog entry about making the game, with concept pictures, and pictures of palm trees.
there was this pc game where asama bin laden is all tied up and the goal is to continuously punch him in the face till he gets knocked out. ideas anyone?

Postal 2 maybe?
I just remembered this game I played when I was younger, it was for the PS2 (although I think it was on the Xbox/Xbox360 as well.) The main part of the story is in the future, wars are fought by clones, blue ones, who have their memory put on these sort of memory card things. The story was something about the character you play as, going rouge. You had dead friends who's memory cards were put in your gun and helmet and they would talk to your character. The title was rouge or renegade something. It came out sometime between 2000-2007.
This game had a free downloadable demo for the computer. I remember the game had physics and you could make robots that broke down if they took enough damage. You could also make underground bases and the main objective was to kill the enemy's brain located within that base. Any ideas?

Rogue Trooper, actually: http://www.ign.com/games/rogue-trooper/ps2-681300
There was a game I played a lot of when I was younger. It was for the original PlayStation. I remember it being more or less a side scroller/platformer. I think there was a driving level or two, as well as some levels that had you falling and trying to avoid obstacles in your path.
I remember that your main weapon was some sort of gravity beam thing. I remember using it to push big blocks on top of spikes so you could get across them. You could even do it with enemies, but I can't remember if you could step on them or not.
That's about all I can remember... I really hope someone knows the name.
Okay vague description time.
PC
Sci-fi
spaceship battles
Could invade planets
One of the alien races had very Op ship weapon, shot some kind of lightning.
I think it was an RTS game.

Can you further definine it for me?
This game was on PC and was made before 2000. One of the levels started you out at a beach on a cloudy grey day. You drove in what looked like a jeep and you had rockets and had to fight other jeeps. Sometimes when you destroy enemy vehicles, the driver would fly out and start kicking around on the ground. If you ran them over, blood would spray all over the ground along with a sickening squelch. Later on that same level, you had to drive into the mountain that had ceiling mounted machine guns.
It's the best I can recall.
PC game, involving a polar bear and golfing, I think?
There was definitely a polar bear and a penguin at least, polar bear wearing sunglasses, 90% sure it was golf
