I played this around about 2007-2008, it was a open world 2d building game kinda reminiscent of, and likely an inspiration for minecraft and/or terraria, but far more dynamic; there was rain that flooded, earthquakes that would cause sand to shift and destroy structures, volcanoes that would crack and flow up from the ground, etc.
Also, you couldn't really make buildings, but rather made preset sprites from gathered resources, I believe.
How big is open world? I'm thinking Clonk Rage/Endeavour but I'm not sure I'd call it open world.
There was a game (Not Mechwarrior) where you could customize your robots, and you went around the levels fighting other robots. It had a robot on the cover, and i feel like Steel or Metal was part of the title. It was an FPS and super fun, i just can't remember it for the life of me, and my google-fu has proven useless.

I remembered it. It was Heavy Gear II.
I'm looking for a PC game.
I remember the game being controlled like an RTS. You move a character, or several, I don't remember, and the goal is to break and enter houses and steal their shit. You had to get a get away car and by getting money from stealing you could get new tools to be used for your missions.
Guards follow a predetermined path, and I think you "plan" your mission by playing it, with a sort of rewind/record system to correct mistakes. Please help.
There was this RPG game i played back in like 2005-2006 i think. If i remember correctly the intro-cinematic was on a zeppelin, but it crashed, and you had to go from there, but i dont really know if this was the intro for the game i'm looking for, or some other game. You had many skills, including lockpicking, and you could steal stuff from merchants barrels. Very early in the game, you could steal some barbarian armor or something from a barrel, (It may have been unidentified, and you had to go to someone to identify it, but i may be remembering wrong). I dont really remember much more, but hopefully someone will understand. Sorry for the bump, by the way

Have fun.
Edit: Just realized that you have to buy it now. Damn.
Well this game that I am about to tell you was for the dreamcast and like
I barely remember the demo but It was like you played as a cat or some sort of animal and the graphics were abit cartoonish and like in the demo you were like near some sort of submarine/dam I don't remember I just know that the level ha was some body of water and like you had like a Machine Gun of some sort in the demo
Here I am again with starship games.
The game I was searching was a FPS sort of thing that you could actually control battle vehicles on many planets surfaces, you could get out of your vehicle and enter aboard many others.
And there was a bigger machine that processed resources from some gas fountains, used to make more units or something like that, I don't remember anything else. D:

Arcanum: Of Steamworks And Magick Obscura. A full on classic. When you get your hands on it I highly recommend making an intensely stupid character just for the dialog options.

Not sure about the gas machine (which funnily enough was my nickname in school) but it sounds like something from the Derek Smart catalog. Check out the 3000AD website for more info.
I don't think it was a looney toons game but it sort of had that vibe? It was a point and click game I think in the 90s, all I remember is that someone was captured and you had to find keys/parts of a key to save them from some massive door in the sky?
There were different scenes like a big tree, a downtown area, a kitchen, a sort of dockyard I think? There were speakers everywhere that had lips when they spoke and they had a somewhat nasally sounding woman saying 'Find a ****' and then when you found it by clicking on it someone would say 'You found it, you found it! Oh, great job clicksters, here's your next hint!'
Those are the only real details I remember, I've googled about but found nothing.
Was that game on a PS1?

Could you guys please tell me what this game is called?
[editline]20th December 2012[/editline]
Nevermind, I found it. It's called Super Spy Hunter or Battle Formula for the NES. I recommend it, it's pretty fun and has some really nice graphics going on
Urgh, this could be a tough one facepunch.
It was way back in 2003-2004, it was a sprite based beat -em up. The characters sort of had that same style as Dragonball, and there were lots of hidden characters and things, as well as many stages. It has a 32-bit type of graphics style, and it was a standalone downloadable game.
I know thats really broad but if anyone has any possibilities i'd love to know as its driving me crazy.
Was that game on a PS1?
I'm pretty sure I played it on PC but it could have been on PS1 as well
I don't really know the year, but its like a choice based game set in the Medievals. You play as the leader of a tribe and gets to make decisions for your people. It's much like the Oregon trail. But I remember it had much better art... I know its not much info but any help?

i remember playing a game years ago on PC with a 16-bit graphical style, possibly a port from a 16-bit console. i remember playing as some kind of ninja, that could transform into a tank and ride up walls. you could transform into other things, i think, but i don't remember what. hopefully thats descriptive enough.

Thanks a lot, I can rest easy now.

i played the fuck out of that game in primary school.
we'd have lan battles in the library. it was the shit.
I remember and XBOX game with aliens.
One of the aliens was a minotaur and a yeti like creature.
There were desert enviroments and a hologram strip club.
There was this game my friends and I used to play for the N64. It was very weird. It was a 3D fighting game and I only remember one of the characters, it was this dude who I'm pretty sure was supposed to be in the army? But it was like his entire body was the color of the uniform. Everyone in this game looked vaguely human at best. Also there were these two characters who were supposed to be twins or something. I only remember one stage and it looked like it was located in outer space.
I've tried to find it by looking up lists of N64 fighting games but it's never on any list.

YESSS, that's it!
2d skiing game, pretty hard. Short levels with you being a ragdoll if you crashed. Level where you had to jump a tree and a cabin. Another where you had to go over a bridge without breaking it. last...5 years or so? Pretty sure it had ski in the name.
[editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
Fouunnnnddd it.

This is an oldie, I'm talking 90's maybe early 00's. I'm fairly sure it's a PacMan ripoff, but it's more of a adventure dungeon crawler than an actual pacman game. The main character was a yellow sphere, and I remember he had a very distinct butt, crack and all. I also remember the final level was in a chrome ship in space, a lot like Star Wars.
Any guesses are a great help.
There was this adventure game I remember playing way back in the 90s. I think it had something to do with sparta, and it had a very grim and dark aesthetic. I recall being able to pick up many objects to use as weapons, and it had a really creepy guy on the cover with face paint and a red bandana. I think the name may have started with the word Dark, or something.

Dark Earth. Never played it but it looked good.
THANK YOU.
Fuck I remember that game so well. I wish I still had it.
OK, super vague time.
It was a car game, an oldish one, and you could customize all of the parts, and I remember you could give it hover wheels back to the future style. It had a map editor, and I remember a glitch were you could drive on the water with out dying, but sparks would fly like crazy from under the car.
Anyone?
