It's kinda sad seing the tank hunters having basically more health than any of the other infantry units. Did I mention that it added the jagdtiger and jagdpanzer IV?

The Soviets are pretty well balanced so far, I'd say more balanced than PE and the British were when they first came out, but it's still not final. I hear the Soviets are a bit strong against Wehrmacht, but that'll be dealt with. And as for the re-crew bug (where soviet forces could not re-crew weapons), as well as the retreat bug (soviet soldiers could not retreat), those have been fixed. I liked it better when they couldn't retreat since it fitted the soviets more with the not one step back order they had.
It would be weird going back to ranked games on coh from starcraft 2, from thousands of players to match up against to literally less than 10.

Once they crushed it, they put retreating in for the Soviets. [editline]4th February 2011[/editline] Having no retreat screwed with the game balance anyway. Maybe it's more realistic without retreat, but it's also more damaging to the Soviet Player than it is to his enemy, especially losing squads. What if you have a Vet 3 Squad and they get pinned and you can't do anything but watch them die? It's not so fair, is it?
it is realistic, irl russians weren't cannon fodder, only penal troops which don't have a retreat button in game, they are strefanyie troops

I would totally recommend Blitzkrieg as a mod in OP. Great game, excellent mod: really makes the game more fun and immersive.
I love playing aganist bots in bridge maps just cause of the bottleneck points. Or keep the bridge dead for an hour and repair it with your new force, Then the AI rolls you with 50 tanks when it's repaired

I wish I could get CoH working.. every time I start it up.. it forces me to patch and can't seem to complete.
Try patching manually? You can download the patch .exes here: [url]http://cohpatch.relic.com/[/url] For a direct download, and not a torrent, just remove the .torrent from the download URLs.

Sounds like you need to reinstall then patch manually. What disc do you install from?

Why the hell would they reduce the cost of units that are so easily spammable and so effective when spammed (volk spam + med bunker is a class Wehr strategy that works quite well)? Well Wehr T1 buffs were needed (USA rolled Wehr on the 1v1 tournament), but instead of taking a few from the available options, they did ALL OF THEM.
Vire River Valley is my favourite. You just demo the side bridges, MG and sniper in the middle at the start. You're set.
I played a great game last night that spanned literally 3 hours, pure epic scale warfare. In the end the Germans had such a strong defensive line that was pretty much impenetrable by anything we resorted to para-drops behind enemy lines and sabotage from within :v:
Had a fun game on Langres, although I thought he was a bit aggressive with the rifles. Using G43 slow and MP44 to mop them up is fricken funny, as an added bonus I don't have to deal with vetted riflemen.
