Here's a fun thing to do as Brits when on the winning side, get a Kangaroo and stuff your 3 lieutenants and your captain inside. Watch as now your Kangaroo is a walking anti-infantry bunker.
Here is a fun thing to do in Company of Heroes, get Panther Battle Group, target it on an unfinished building. When the first Panther Pops out, cancel the building. Profit! For the massive amounts of clicking for Panzer Elite, just use the auto hotkey script which just spams rightclick and holds shift. Though trying to get the half tracks to reverse perfectly is still the most frustrating thing ever.
Ja ja, one way den the other

OK perhaps a small tutorial on how to make your units cap the map faster. 1) Select unit in question, larger squads are more sucessful, although small squads will work, even if it is a bit finicky 2) Order your infantry to capture a point. 3) Hold shift and click the next few other points you need to capture! HOLY SHIT! Alternative. 3) Drag right click (where you can control the direction of units) near the next point you want to capture. 4) When the unit starts walking over to the next point, quickly click back on the point you are currently capturing. If done right, one guy will splinter off and move towards where you dragged clicked, then shift click the next point. Could also be used to prepare units to get into houses, say drag right click near the door of the building, if you are under attack you can quickly order the unit to hop into a building. I guess this is also quite useful to spread your infantry out when capturing points, to prevent instagib from artillery as well. Generally don't capture points when you are under fire, of course if the point is nearly done you can try and keep capping. It is possible to queue up a retreat, say after capturing a certain point. You have to hold shift, and CLICK on the retreat button. Shift + T won't work. Edit: A PROPER tutorial on capwalking : http://www.gamereplays.org/companyofheroesonline/portals.php?show=page&name=company-of-heroes-online-general-totw-1-capwalking
Capwalking is good micro. Nice to see that's getting more common.
Ja ja, one way den the other
You've been at the candy again haven't you?
The reactions from the soldiers on the battlefield are the best iv'e ever seen in a RTS. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] Rain, open top tank, Great Fucking Engineering. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] i rather shoot this ammo than carrying it around. Years of sniper training and i'm still walking around like the minderwertig arbeiter. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline] Panzershreck! Time to un-pimp zeir ride!
it's cool because they have different dialogue when it's raining and they're all amusing
Blitzkrieg should get added to the popular mods list imo.
Capwalking is good micro. Nice to see that's getting more common.
I've never heard of it, must be somewhat new. Looks hard. Two I remember most destictly was an American Riflesquad near a Bofors emplacement: "Fuckin' Hell now that's an autocannon!" and "Those Brits sure know how to design an AA Gun."
If you click on units repeatedly, they get ANGRY. Like, "Shoot at the floating camera in the sky" angry.
If you click on units repeatedly, they get ANGRY. Like, "Shoot at the floating camera in the sky" angry.
Favorite has to be the Panzergrenadier's reaction: Clickity-click! Clickity-fucking-click! What a bastard.
Ok I'll elaborate a bit more, Invariably if a Brit player is beating you, it's because you have done something wrong, that's my overall opinion for the Brits, they are actually rather crippled on the whole because of their defensive nature. The exception to that rule is the damn kangaroo carriers.
The thing is, to beat a British player you have to be doubly as skilled as him. The "defensive nature" is thrown out of proportion when they can move their HQ to the middle VP at the start of the game to act as a fallback and reinforcement point, which they can secure with a mortars and vickers pit. To stop this as Wehr you have to either get lucky and trap them with good MG42 placement (which can always get sniped by the enfield squad) or get a motorbike in while they are still constructing the emplacements. So yes, a Brit player can beat me if I have done something wrong, but I've most likely been trying my best to stop him getting set up in the middle while he's sitting their laughing with his 10 APM invinci-units. If you do happen to stop brits from seizing the middle then most of them just crumble because they don't know what to do.

How about Bren Squad in Bren Carrier. Those are fun to use.
Agreed, the voice acting is hilarious at times. Some of my favourites: Sniper: "Heart or head, either way, Jerry's dead." King Tiger: "They are scratching your paintjob Helmut" Pioneers: "all these dead men around, women get less choosie" When volks get Panzerfausts: "I have a rocket in my pocket" The churchill goes crazy at times when in combat "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?" Also, when you keep clicking on units a lot they get angry and say lots of funny stuff, and when it rains they start bitching about the weather. There's so many lines, i keep hearing new ones even after 4 years of playing.

I really wish that Relic would stop ruining DOWII and release Company of Heroes 2 instead. Assuming that they won't ruin that as well. Lately they have been experimenting with free games so I bet we are doomed..

Have one person commanding everyone, but he can be voted out if he is just griefing. Kind of like that game Nuclear Dawn that has been in development for ages.
Play as the US, zoom in on infantry. Greeted with 'Jesus christ conrad tie your fucking laces'.
Unfortunately, I find it impossible to enjoy this game after playing Men of War.
Heh. I found it impossible to play Men of War after playing this. Mostly because of the massive focus on micromanagement and the confusing controls(compared to CoH).
Tales of Valour worth getting? (I'm planning on poaasibly getting CoH Gold and then ToV, if it's worth getting)
This game is awesome or atleast used to be awesome. The original game was definitely amazing and Opposing Fronts was quite cool too, but Tales of Valor was just greedy. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline]
Tales of Valour worth getting? (I'm planning on poaasibly getting CoH Gold and then ToV, if it's worth getting)
It adds a few veichles to the online gameplay but you have to exchange them for the originals and it really isn't necessary. Tales of Valour does have 3 new campaigns but 2 of them are short and all of them are awful. Go for CoH Gold if you want some good campaigns, and believe me the campaigns in CoH are good! If you just want multiplayer, you should either get only Gold or only ToV.
Tales of Valour worth getting? (I'm planning on poaasibly getting CoH Gold and then ToV, if it's worth getting)
ToV is everything you need for MP in one package. However, it has the worst and shortest campaigns of all 3 games. For campaigns, buy CoH Gold. Buying both is a wasteful overlap, because all ToV actually adds to CoH gold is 8 units, a reskin, and campaigns you'll beat in 2 hours.
I'll probably get gold then, since I played SP way more than MP (read, not at all) when i owned them before.
Also does anyone else find it weird that they included the same vehicle twice, with extremely different stats? The T17 Armored Car and the Staghound Armoured Car are the exact same thing in real life, the only difference is that one the T17 wasn't really used by the US, just the British, who called it the Staghound. It's odd though because the T17 takes has paper thin armour and is about as vulnerable as a jeep when it comes to explosions, and snipes Infantry, while the Staghound is armoured like a Tank and is laughably bad against Infantry. Only they're the exact same vehicle.

Played a hard and normal on Rails and Metal with Mr Someguy.. We got owned, mainly my fault, I hadn't played in 2 or 3 months.. Played again against just a hard and owned (as you'd expect)

I wiped out a good 70% of their forces.
