I want my Puzzle Agent 2 noooooooow!
Is the store still updating once a week?
ahhh fuck, my PS3 just shut off randomly yesterday while playing Undead Nightmare, now the light goes green, beeps 3 times then goes yellow, and red while blinking again. And my warranty is out.
Wat do?
welcome to the club of YLOD, it's ok you got me.
basically save up like 150 +
Hmm, I'm really enjoying Uncharted 3, but something about it just nags me every time I play it. Maybe it is the fact that melee is just broken and whomever came up with it is an idiot. Or maybe that it feels slower than the previous game. I don't know, just something bothers me.
Been playing GT5 all day, what a fantastic game. Some of the cars look really nice.
Quadruple XP in Red Dead all weekend through the 4th.
Uncharted 3's MP Beta is practically the best thing ever on PS3 right now.
It's really good. Did you get all the unlocks (excluding emblems and character items) randomly? Me and a friend did without getting to the required levels.
uncharted 3's multiplayer is p cool.
the segment that resolves around this cargo plane going down the runway with half a dozen flatbed trucks on its tail is so cool
and you can give high-five with your teammate over fallen foes for extra cash. how sweet is that.
and going down the zipline on Chateau and lobbing a grenade at the stationary gun mid-travel feels great
the perks- i mean boosters, are pretty unimaginative though.
"bargain" reduce the the required medals for a kickback* by one.
"weapon expert" attach two mods to your pistol.
"daredevil" taunt over a dead enemy to refill your ammo.
*pretty much killstreak-rewards but they are obtained by getting medals not kills. not a big fan of giving great players a even bigger advantage but i guess every game needs something like this nowadays :sigh:
at least they're pretty original.
"smoke bomb", for example, makes you go up in smoke and teleports you away from any danger.
and there's one that gives you a limitless mag for 30 secs or so
and one that spawns a RPG in your hands.
also, i don't like how they've reduced the player movement speed and added a sprint button it just makes it just feels sluggish ugh
Is it an open beta?
Can you just download it directly from store?

Currently it is for Plus members, and those who have invite codes.

You either need a beta code, or be a Playstation+ subscriber. If you had an account before the hack, then you should be fine and have the month of free Playstation+ to use, thats what has enabled me to play it.
And yes, just go to the store, and look in the playstation plus section.
Uncharted 3 Beta; all day, every day.
...
...When I'm not working or sleeping, that is.
I think i am going trade in my black ops i got for free with my PS3 to trade for the Dual pack of Resistance when it comes out on the 5th. I wish there was information about when the Uncharted Dual pack is going to release.
how much will i get for like 40+ games , some new release but majority of old/medium old games
just trying to get a bit of money to buy a new ps3 - got YLOD
Oh god I love connecting my microphone and then turning the pitch up
It's so annoying to people

Oh god what the fuck is this shit. I have an analogue stick for a reason. I shouldn't need to tell it to sprint with an extra button, I should just need to tilt the stick further forward. Why do developers insist on sprint functions for analogue inputs.

yes, your right. its fucking annoying.

Because most people simply just have their analog stick pushed all the way 99% of the time?
It would be extremely un-ergonomic to force players to have their analog stick halfway just to do a normal run when halfway should be reserved for walking speed.

Analogue sticks are actually really precise, pinning it down 100% all the time is probably not too great in terms of wear and tear so you should avoid it really. But it isn't too hard to have a walk/ run system based on analogue position as it has been done hundreds of times. A sprint button just seems very un-Uncharted.
For anyone that wants into the Journey beta, you aren't missing anything. It's not a real beta, it's just the demo version of the game they showed at E3. It is fun, but it is only like 10-15 minutes long. The multiplayer function works, but it is being restricted to four people per "room" right now. People also cannot join your room, it is formed when you start the game or load a new area. That means that, currently, you and someone else have to start the game at the same time and move to a new area at the same time to be with each other.
They should just speed up the gameplay in Uncharted. Seriously, walking is like your character is strutting like a moron.
I have had my PS3 for about a week now, feels much more, ahem, convenient than the X360 so far.
Beaten MGS4 once, working my way through the KZ2 campaign (Those fucking spiders :colbert: ), in terms of multiplayer experiences IMO KZ2 wipes MGS4 off the table (200% more playercount with 75% less insta-deaths, sadly though with the doubled playercount it also has double the amount of nade-spam)
Also, just wondering this: KZ2, Y U NO INSTALL OPTION?
God the KZ2 MP was intense when I played it last. People dying left right and centre, it felt like a small war rather than a bunch of woodland creatures running around with sniper rifles spinning in circles and firing wildly. Might just be because the game was as gritty as tile grout on your morning cereal.
I just picked up Killzone 2 today for 19.99 used. It seems like a really good game so far and I got it because I've heard a lot of good things. But it feels so awkward after being used to Call of Duty or Halos controls. I keep pressing L1 for ironsight.
Also h ow is the multiplayer? Can a newb like myself enjoy a few matches and not rage at all the elite players?

Control scheme alternate 2 my friend, just like COD4, but sadly it still uses a trigger for crouching.

It was probably like that because the maps are the size you would expect of in a 16 player game like Halo.

Thanks that was very helpful. Now I just need to get used to the aiming system. It feels...well it reminds me a bit of Battlefield Bad Company 2. For some reason it's the same system or whatever but feels completely different to my usual BlackOps or Halo or Gears.

Ah-ha! I thought I was just me. I haven't played the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer in a while, but I did notice right away in the Beta that the movement is very slow-paced and sluggish comparing it to the pace in Uncharted 2, even the response time seems a bit dumbed down.
(Note that I'm comparing it to Uncharted 2, I'm not saying it takes a minute beore your Character responds to a button or something.)
Other-wise, I have a lot of 'theories' about what the full Mutliplayer will hold.
I'd share them now, but, uh, I feel like that would be total Thread derailment.
Plus, I'm tired.
Wow, didn't think a game like inFamous 2 could get so emotional, especially at the ending.
The UC3 beta is good fun. I played with my gf in split screen to see how it worked, it's very neat. It lets another player with a different console literally log into their PSN and hop online so they play with you on the same TV and progress as they normally would rank wise etc.
Granted, our eyes are a bit strained from the squashed nature of the Split Screen itself. The game is streaming the two separate windows so I think it down-rez's a lot of the textures and begins to hurt your eyes. But overall it's good fun.
I just hope they make the game feel more fluid and less clunky gameplay wise by the time it comes out. There's too much of a delay between pressing fire and the gun actually firing. UC2 feels so much smoother and more fluid with it's movement, weapon usage and free-form object scaling as well. It almost feels like more of a developmental decision to distinctly change the "feel" of it, and I hope there's enough dismay from the community about it.
Otherwise, it's fun.
Itchy, what's with Rusty-Bucket and you? Is there a story?

Good or bad? I haven't played it yet but had it spoiled for me. I was pissed to say the least.
