This is interesting. Everyone's girlfriends are getting this game. I didn't realize how widely it appealed to the female demographic until I went and bought the game (with my gf ironically who also purchased a copy) and it was all women buying it.
Well it makes sense, after all one of it's gameplays involve sim dating. But I don't know if it's just her or not but she can't play the puzzles for the life of her. Hell I can barely play them, especially when she gets stuck and tosses me the controller, I end up restarting the level just so I know how it starts.

When i gave the game a try i put it on easy because my friend told me normal is actually really hard.
Is the Killzone series any good? What about Resistance? And Uncharted?
Also, need for speed shift or Gran Turismo 5?

Killzone 2 and 3 are pretty decent. The Resistance series is fantastic, but plays with a different feeling than most other fps titles, giving it a fresh new feel to it.
The Uncharted series is great, and probably one of my favorites game series' for the ps3.
Need for Speed and Grand Turismo are entirely different game styles, so it really depends on how you like your racing games.

Now that you said they are all great, I have no idea which to get.
Also, which is better in terms of modding, number of cars, maps? And handling?

Killzone 2 is where it's at. Don't touch Killzone 3 unless you are looking for COD clone 12121212121212213. I swear KZ3 takes "I saw you first" gameplay to a whole new level.
Oh and if your are looking for a good third person shooter, go with MGS4. The multiplayer is quite "original" I'd say (As in, headshots seem to be the only way to kill people)

Ok then, how big is the difference between killzone 2 and 3? Shame its not out for PC, and it sucks you don't get to play as the cool helghast.

It would appear to be that I indeed have a PS3. Shocking isn't it? A PS3 owner, in a PS3 thread
Killzone 3 is a giant downgrade from Killzone 2. The core gameplay was changed to appease to the COD fans after a certain group of people (From the COD community that is) complained about Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 MP where "They couldn't kill anyone". In response to that Guerilla Games decided to change the health and damage values to something more dumbed down and CODlike for KZ3. And don't get me started on the smaller maps and lower playercount.
Also, weren't you the one who was just asking about the Killzone series? I doubt you should be the one who is accusing here.

Since when did I say you didn't have a PS3?
i PM'd the OP a week ago to add my name to the OP's list of PSN names and it still hasn't been added

It was kind of implied there with the way it was worded.
no it wasn't
It was kind of implied there with the way it was worded.
No it wasn't. The 'shame it's not out for PC' was a general comment. And the 'you' in there wasn't directed at anyone in particular. Plus there's the 'and' between there.
I've managed to set up pretty flawless PS3 gameplay streaming and chat if anyone would like to check out a game this evening.
I'm thinking of playing Dead Nation with the lady and online if we can (I don't know how many people it allows to play the game maximum). You can interact with us omgomgomg

Also apologies about that. You'll be added shortly.

P. sure you need to go back to school and re-learn to read. But still, you are right about Killzone 3 being quite a downgrade in terms of the online. From what I've seen and played of it myself, it isn't quite as gritty as Killzone 2, I had a good time on the demo, but it just didn't feel Killzone. Though the unlock system seemed a bit better at least, and there was a bit more weapon variety.
I would say get the Uncharted series first, then either Resistance or MGS4, Killzone is good, but they aren't something I would push to the front of my list.
Babel mode on Catherine is frustrating. Not an overly avid puzzler so I doubt I'll be getting platinum too. Still a good game though.
Has anyone ever tried that hdmi wire that gamestop sells? I bought a cheap one online but it seems to be, well cheap. Anyway, I would be getting it for free but is it above average quality?
An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable. Unless it's broken, then it's going to send the same signal as any other brand would.
Edit: Don't disagree. It's a digital signal, the quality of the cable makes no difference. You're paying for a name.
It's more or less longevity, and, believe it or not, how quickly the signal is sent. I had an RCA HDMI, it was terrible in terms of being able to send a reliable signal. I bought another, thinking it was just an isolated case. That one died. I bought a Monster HDMI, has worked flawlessly for 5 years now.
You get what you pay for.
I've owned three HDMI cables: the Sony one I bought for $80 when I got my PS3, one that came with another device I bought, and a $3 one from Amazon.
All of them work exactly the same. No delays, no visual artifacts. Nothing.
My V+ box is connected with a cheap £2 HDMI cable and my PS3 is a £30 cable that I picked up for £10 and they're all exactly the same in terms of quality.
Come join me and the lady playing Dead Nation. We like company.

Has anyone gotten an email about CSIdentity? What exactly is this and how does it make my account more secure?
Nope.
Anyway, I've got $20 I want to spend, should it go into a bunch of dlc, or just wipeout hd?

Yeah I got it. I don't have a card setup on my PSN anyways because I only use PSN cards so it's kind of pointless to me.
Tried the Japanese demo of the new Final Fantasy PSP game.
Couldn't understand much but some of the menu headers were in English (Some reason this is common through numerous Japanese demos I've tried, any specific reason for this?), plays okay, some camera issue though with having a large beast in a small room.
cutscenes look good and they do what peacewalker did with the higher detailed characters for the ingame ones too.

They do it so that the header area isn't full of empty space, with one end having 2 to 4 Kanji characters and nothing else.
Empty space looks ugly, you can take up more room by having it in English, but they specifically do English because, 1. Most Japanese people also know English, and 2. Phonetic Japanese would look really stupid in place of proper Kanji to most Japanese people.
