I'm thinking of getting this one.
When I back the current data up, do I need a 40GB USB or will it make the data smaller?
I'd try and get around or more than the size of the current HDD. I don't think it compresses anything, just copies all the data and profiles it can. I've not used the backup tool myself, but that is what it seems to do.

Seems fairly good from the reviews on sites like TomsHardware. Not a bad price either.
My HDTV is a Hitachi one.
Does this mean my TV has a killswitch on it set to "break" the tv at some point to force me to buy a new one? :(
Naw, it was just one or two Deskstar HDD series they produced had a flaw. Most of their other products (and modern drives) are solid.
Aw, fuck.Any headsets (mic and headphones :<) you recommend then?
I just use my PS-eye for mic and a cheap pair of wireless headphones for sound. I would use my USB headset I have for my computer but that didn't work out to well, as stated.
For headphones I'm not really an expert. Buy whatever fits your needs/wallet. If you already have a PS-eye or something I'd use that to save some bucks, but I suppose any USB mic would do.

Wasn't it IBM that made the Deskstar?
Wasn't it IBM that made the Deskstar?
I think they might have a DeskStar, it looks like IBM drive was the faulty one, and it was produced just before Hitatchi bought the Deskstar name from them. Might explain some of the confusion actually :v:
Hey guys, how's life?
Great, waiting for gamefly to decide whether to send me Ico and Shadow of the collousus, its the only game in my Queue and it's been 2 days so far.

I got it off of Newegg for 35$.
Is gamefly any good?
Is gamefly any good?
Yeah, I've gotten through most of the games I've been wanting for months in just 2 months of using it, well worth it.
Anyone else in the BF3 beta?
Anyone else in the BF3 beta?
I am but getting with friends in it is confusing as hell right now.
I'm in my friends squad while I'm on the main menu, and I can see he's ingame, but I have no option to join him, and you can't send invites or join from ingame, it's a mess right now.
Also when unlocks like to reset at the start of a new round, rage.
I've been thinking about getting a Playstation 3, seeing as my parents (mother, mostly) is thinking of hooking me up with a console. I did have an XBOX 360 but I don't think I could arse myself or my parents to shell out $50 for me every single year, which adds up in the end. I just need to cover the main differences I'd expect from the PS3/XBOX.
unsure if to get the ico/sotc updated re-release...
Why wouldn't you?
I've changed my mind about getting a new PS3 harddrive, instead I'm going to get a slim PS3. My one at the moment is a 4 or 5 year old 40GB and if I'm honest it has seen better days. Will I need an external harddrive to transfer everything from the old ps3 to the new one?

You can connect them up with an Ethernet cable and do it that way. Somewhere in the PS3 settings.
Just formatted my PS3, corrupted hard drive and nothing was working.
3 years of creating on LBP, playing many many many games, gone. :c
The Uncharted 3 MP Subway promotion sounds like the best thing ever.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/09/30/uncharted-3-multiplayer-experience-is-just-hours-away/
tl;dr: buy a 30z drink tomorrow and get a code to play the MP for one month. exclusive cosmetic items, perks, and carry over your XP over to the full game
Why would I want an ingame subway t-shirt, just free advertising for them.
[editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
I really wonder how much subway paid them to do that.
So the Uncharted 3 Subway Promotion started? I'm hijacking my Dad's Car first thing tomorrow and grabbing me a 30 oz. drink.
FIFA 12 is good :D
I am enjoying uncharted. They have polished it a lot since the beta.
Gonna go out and buy a PS3, already decided on getting MGS4 and LBP2. I'm stuck with a decision of, God Of War III or Uncharted 2.

Uncharted 2 all the way!

God of War 3 wasn't that bad of a game, but Uncharted 2 blew it out of the water.
Also, they just released the Uncharted pack which has both 1 and 2 in it, and both are very incredible games.
You really can't compare God of war 3 and Uncharted 2.
Go for which game genre you like most of the two.

Anyone purchase the original Crysis? I'm interested in how it holds up on consoles.
Oh shit, we're getting PS2 games on the PSN now? I've always wanted to try God Hand but I don't think my PS2 controller is up to it. And since when were they porting Crysis?

Wondering this as well, piqued my interest for sure
So I get on to play the beta for BF3.
I join a random full server, get forty kills in ten minutes with the default recon pistol.
So are all the current players codfags, idiots, or what? Or maybe I'm used to playing with PC players it makes it easy.
