Give the uncharted series a look into.
I just bought uncharted 3 and it's amazing for a third person shooter.
uncharted 3 feels a little bit more buggy and less polished than the second game
it's still cool and all but the fuckin AI is like agent smith

I just got it the other night so i can't compare the two yet.
Only one of the series i don't own is the first one.
Just platinumed Dark Souls, took over 300 hours and 3 playthroughs. Was fun, now to send it back to gamefly for something else. Unsure what to get considering I'll have MGS Collection on Christmas, anyone know if the newest Motorstorm is still active online?
Saints Row The Third is seriously one of the most ridiculously fun games I've ever played. It's everything GTA should have been.

I disagree.
Rockstar seem to be making a slightly new approach to the GTA series. Making it more gritty and darker. I loved the hit mission where you had to go to and interview and pick the time to take out your target.
Saints Row on the other hand has a more up beat comedy violent feel to it. It will be more we could do this, this way or you can grab a tank and blow up your target or call in an air strike. Which is great.
I like them both for different reasons.
In no way GTA should of been like saints row.
If you remember the old Saints Row games they felt more like a toned down GTA and a bit more generic . Like how most FPS's are like CoD in one way or another.
But GTA used to be a more. No one really cared about the missions. I used to fire that game up on my Ps2 with a cheat magazine sat in front of me and get my fix off killing peds and police.
I would hate to see both of these great games competing in who can be the best open world generic gang violent game.
Saints Row does it's over the top gameplay well and GTA does it's story telling and living world better.
Most people will probably disagree with me. But I think Rock Star should probably advertise in game. Maybe have a McDonald's restaurants and other real business's in game.
I think it would give it a more immersive feel since the peds in game and the world it self feel so real.

I doubt corporations like McDonalds would like their image associated with such a controversial series.
Also, to all PS3 BF3 players, you can now get Battlefield 1943 for free at https://1943redemption.battlefield.com
Bought Disgaea 4. Love NIS. Never change.
probably going to be the longest platinum ever if I even decide to attempt it.
I just picked up a PS3 that came with a 30 day PS Plus trial and HP7 on Bluray. I haven't bought any games yet, but I'm planning on picking up Uncharted 2 and LBP2 tomorrow.
If you have the money you should get the dual bundle of uncharted games and go for the new special edition of LBP2 which comes with a lot of DLC.
Seems like LBP2:special edition is on sale on amazon : http://www.amazon.com/Little-Big-Planet-Special-Playstation-3/dp/B005T5OBWY/ref=dp_cp_ob_vg_title_1
Uncharted dual pack: http://www.amazon.com/UNCHARTED-Greatest-Hits-Dual-sony-playstation3/dp/B0055202HE/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1323655583&sr=1-1
Or could go for uncharted 3 if you had the money.
Hi, I just got a PS3. My PSN is Milkandcooki if anyone wants to add me.
I only have MGS, Infamous, and am getting Uncharted 3 and maaaybe Red Dead Redemption for christmas.
Send me a message there or on Facepunch if you want to play sometime!

Also, what games should I get besides the ones I mentioned?
Just beat God Hand for the third time in a row. I cannot get enough of this game, so satisfying landing endless combo's, dodging everyone's attacks and doing super finishers. Fucking amazing game, hard as hell and only continues getting harder and harder.
There have been a lot of rumors going around claiming that PSN+ will be required for online play in the coming months. These rumors have been spread by a friend of mine who claims a Sony rep was talking about it at the store he works at (A video game retail store). I call bullshit on this entirely for several reasons.
1) Current commercials say PSN is free. And currently this is true, however does it prove they won't change that soon?
2) He has some kind of vendetta against PS3's. Always looking for some reason to tell me the Xbox is better. I own both systems, and I don't like one more than the other.
3) I have read an article saying that all current features of PSN/PS3 will remain free, however future features may require PSN+ to access. This means that online play will remain free, but there is a chance that future game installments might require PSN+.
So what is everyone elses thoughts on this? I get really annoyed by my friend when he continually brings us this whole console war crap and I don't believe him at all regardless of where he works. I highly doubt a Sony Rep would reveal something like that to a video game retailer.

It's already bullshit with first party games needing an online pass, so I can't even rent a damn game without buying a pass to play multiplayer. Was gonna rent Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3 until I read they require a pass, so I really hope they won't fuck up even more by making PSN+ the new online pass.

At least you can rent games. Blockbuster and Rogers went out of business where I live. And there are no other options anywhere nearby.

I only do GameFly and if I'm incredibly desperate RedBox outside my neighborhood 7Eleven. I used to use Blockbuster, but then I got tired of paying $10 for 5 days of gameplay and $2 late fees. Fucking Blockbuster deserves to go out of business.
The thing that bothers me about renting games that require an online pass, I can rent it from Gamefly, but it already takes a week or so to get my game after sending one back and waiting for the next, I'm already waiting for them to get DarkSiders here, which they sent out on Friday like jackasses, so instead of getting it on Sunday I have to wait till monday. So it's that slight frustration mixed with the fact I can't even play my games online after waiting up to a week of waiting for them if the singleplayer is meh and I want to play with friends, shit ain't right.

The other Uncharted games, Demon's Souls and/or Dark Souls, the God of War games.
Was thinking of getting Dark Souls. No point in getting the other Uncharted games, as I've beaten the last two at my friend's house weeks ago.
Ico & Shadow of the colossus is worth it.

One of the USP's is play for free and from what I've heard the multiplayer can be a bit laggy on their. Plus with PSN going down now and again it's not worth paying for. But when people get something for free they expect it to remain free. If Sony were to make PSN a required purchase to use games online it would have a massive backlash from the community and it would give the PlayStation a bad name. Something that Sony shouldn't want since the next gen consoles are rumoured to be coming nearer.
PSN+ is just more for the hardcore audience that make a lot of purchases online and use the network often. I really can't see this happening. It's like people having to pay a fee to use Facebook it simply wouldn't happen because the effect would be to damaging to the community.

it does take some of the pressure of having to make a fun game off of rockstar so they can continue with their depressing life message shit they're doing
Going to get a PS3 with 3 controllers and 12 games for $300aud from a old friend.
Seems too good to be true honestly.
Anyone else get an email from Sony with a voucher for 30 days of PSN+ along with codes for two friends?
I didn't get one. But I actually buy PSN+. I find it useful for getting good deals. Though I didn't mean to buy it this time around, apparently my subscription is set to renew.
I just looked and i didn't.
Well, shit! I got excited for nothing.
Well, here's a screenshot for proof of the email if anyone has any doubts. Just redeemed my code, It says you need a credit card to activate.
