Is the beta for All-Stars going on until release day? I'm getting my PS3 on the 30th, and won't be able to play with any friends until November 6th at an election party.

Well, got Valkyria Chronicles yesterday, was given a strange burst of nostalgia to see no trophies for it (Probably for the best, IMO) instead of the modern post-MW2 achievement fest of modern games. Time to never visit TVTropes again, seeing as practically every page on that site has VC spoilers on it. :v:

Does anyone know if you can buy PaRappa for the PSP from PSN and play it on PS3?

I've heard the PS3 can play PSOne discs though. Is this real, or is it like with PS2 games, how only the first PS3s can play it? I'm getting my PS3 tomorrow, so I don't really know much about what they can and can't do.

I have a fat 80GB PS3 that plays all PS1 games. There are a couple however that sometimes crash randomly. Micro Machines V3 and Wip3out crash randomly.

Right now, games I'd recommend for it include Little Big Planet, Gravity Rush, and Uncharted Golden Abyss (And those are only exclusive titles), and soon Assassins Creed 3 Liberation, Ragnarok Odyssey, Play Station All Stars, and Persona 4 Golden will be released. Still, no one can predict what the future for Vita will be, so it's still a gamble whether Vita will continue to get support, or even if support will ever ramp up for Vita: In the further future (2013 and beyond), Sly Cooper Thieves In Time, Soul Sacrifice, Killzone Mercenaries, and Tear Away look very promising. An exclusive Bioshock for Vita was also announced by Ken Levine, but that may not release until 2014, as they only stated that work pick up on it after Infinite comes out. EDIT: But really, the 3DS is a pretty great system as well, I don't know if I could safely recommend trading it towards a Vita purchase.

Holy fuck. Journey. Why didn't I get a PS3 sooner? This game is beautiful. EDIT: Finished the game. Hands down one of the most beautiful things that I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Hmm, is it just me, or did Sony have a hard-on for little/no load screens in their 2011 exclusives? I can't help but notice most PS3 exclusives released in 2011 (Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3) have no gameplay interrupting load screens in their singleplayer.

I bought a PS3 for Black Friday so now I can officially be part of the community...when it gets here next Tuesday.
