This is one of those games that you start playing at 6:00 PM, then realize it's 12:00 AM when you finally look at the clock.

Then you still realize you only have 5 cities.
This deserves a bump. Installing game as we speak. Gonna learn the ropes, then hopefully play with some people.
PS: My dad is a complete Tribal Wars fan, would he also like this game if he gave it a chance? I figured it resembles Tribal Wars somewhat.
Then you still realize you only have 5 cities.
I usually have about 7-8 main cities (by main, I mean they actually help and are above a population of 6) then about 3-5 "colony" cities that are further out to get resources and act as stationing points for soldiers.

Also, is anyone up for a game with me some time tomorrow? I'll be on at around 3pm GMT, and i'd love a game.
I liked the princip, the game mechanics. But whenever I try to replay the game, I loose control of my units and it's getting a mess and total chaos at times of war.
And then I get bored because it's the same thing all over again. Might retry this and take it more serious.
the game itself owns but i hope if they make a civ5 they fix turns taking forever in mid to late game
I think the game is great but I hate the AI. Why do I always have to build the damn roads to connect our cities? They never do ANYTHING. And they piss me off. If i'm beating the crap out of them, they never become my vassal.
Love the game so much. And Junker, you're obviously doing something wrong. In times of war, focus on a few key points. Send most of your men to that city / fort so they can be manoeuvred to take the enemy without it taking too long.
If you just keep on top of it and make sure you know where your guys are, it's easy. I find it easier, however, to press the attack. Even if it means my guys getting owned, at least it freaks them out and they go super defensive.

roads link cities together so they all can share resources and make your units move quicker
Personally, I start to lose interest in it once everything starts becoming modern.
FFH is included in BTS. Might not be #2 though.
The FFH included in BTS is the "Age of Ice" sub-mod thing which focuses on what happened before the main story. The one he's talking about is much larger... Larger than BtS itself, I believe.
I love the blue marble mod, makes the game look much better. easily one of my favorite games of all time, it's one of the few games I always go back to.

I know WHY you build roads, I meant why is it always me who has to connect the cities up. Honestly, the AI will sit there for 20-40 turns and not do anything about our trade. Makes me mad.
Is it really worth it to get mad over that? Right click plot-left click road-wait til worker is done, takes all of 3 seconds or less

I'm just saying, I wish AI partook in helping trading. It get's annoying after connecting about 3 cities up and using up those precious workers. It takes about 13-20 turns for me, because I always play on large maps and my trading partners are half way across the continent.
Oh lord, this game.
I remember playing the FFH2 mod with my friend, and getting raped by the barbarians early, resulting in 5 turn game of Civilization 4. Damn, getting addicted to this game is the easiest thing you can do.
Oh god, the connection errors were terrible.
Goddamn I started playing this again a few weeks ago, been having several long marathons. Me and my girlfriend literally played it all day last week together.

Can you add it to steam?
HOLY SHIT
it works now
I was the US and I nuked the fuck out of Russia, then China came over and kicked my ass.
I hate how the first 60+ turns or so is pretty much just waiting for shit to get built. It wastes a lot of time.

I get all my shit built in 30 turns. You must suck.

I never counted how many turns it took.
It might be 30.
But of course, I always have near 5 cities within 10 turns, so yeah.

Thats impossible.
Settlers take 15-25 turns to be built, so 5 cities near around 10 turns is insane.
Also, I love the first few turns, they're the best. And I WISH you could stay in the medieval era. I tend to lose interest when you get to tanks. I LOVE the caravels and frigates during the renaissance period. Exploring new continents is the shit.
