RCI, I mean. Something about a worker-work balance, I think.
I thought RCI stood for Residential, Commerical and Industrial...

Why is there a building in the middle of the street? Anyway, this whole thing with the discovering of crappy simulation along with blatant lies is really depressing. One one hand the game is really fun, but on the other you have bad business and not-so-great coding which goes against my morals. YOU'RE TEARING ME APART EA!
You have to purchase it again from the Origin store.
I hope you're kidding me..
I hope you're kidding me..
How did you buy the game?
I noticed in Sandbox mode there is cheat to disable homeless people. I didn't even know the game simulated that.
It totally does. They roam the streets (looking for jobs I guess?) and sleep in parks, clogging them up from public use.
I love how cities look in region view. [t]http://i.imgur.com/LmDb59F.jpg[/t]
How did you buy the game?
Origin... The money did go from my card.
Anyone looking to start a region? Getting bored playing with randoms.
http://www.reddit.com/r/SimCity/comments/1a8bw7/how_to_mod_sim_city_2013_getting_started_basics/

Wait, that function name "getfudgedpopulation" was that already in there? NAMED THAT!? Jesus, talk about a smoking gun.
This is such a shame. What have you done Maxis.
This is such a shame. What have you done Maxis.
The amount of controversy surrounding this game is staggering.

[editline]13th March 2013[/editline]
The amount of controversy surrounding this game is staggering.
its still better than the last simcity though lol, in sc4 it was just a bunch of statistics and disappearing cars.
How did you buy the game?
Are you using the new DLC? What's it like?
its still better than the last simcity though lol, in sc4 it was just a bunch of statistics and disappearing cars.
Nobody is denying that the simulation is still better than SC4 but a lot of big gaping holes have been poked in this game since its release.
I don't get it, when I check what my residents think of my City they all say there's not enough shopping, but when I check the Region statistics residents of every other city come to mine to shop.
TBH your experience with the game greatly improves when you just completely fucking ignore anything any of your sims say or your advisors say and just try and make a cool looking city and bulldoze abandoned buildings when they come. Just pretend that you had a particularly picky sim move in while everybody else in town doesn't give a shit. Because the whole "Oh, no places to shop!" and "Oh! we need workers!" shit is totally broken right now as long as the agent system stays for the populations. I've found you can keep a city largely running fine if you do your best (but not really care that much) to address for traffic oddities, keep services running and make sure you can deal with big important stuff that does actually cause your city to have problems universally (like widespread fire or crime or etc).
How long does it take for a great work to be approved? Also is there anyway to donate money/things to other players in my region?
How long does it take for a great work to be approved?
half hour
half hour
Why does it even need to be approved?
So i have like 7 trading depots and a recycling center that are full of oil and they won't export the goods to the global market. They were working at the beginning but they just stopped for no reason. It seems to be a common bug. Because of this i'm losing 10k+ every hour and have 30k left. I have no idea how to fix my city.
This is such a shame. What have you done Maxis.
I honestly don't see the big deal with this at all. Why do people think this is a huge issue? The only problem with the population inflation is that your RCI takes into account how many agents/real population is actually getting to their jobs/things/etc, but things like demanding workers needs actual population numbers to work there. I.E. A factory expecting to get 100 sims there can't be cause there are only about 50 agents that can get there... even though according to the population, each agent should count for 10 sims (so 50 agents = 500 population). Problems like this create issues with bigger cities not getting their needs filled.
I think I have figured out the optimal way to get around the terrible coding of this game. All problems can be traced back to one central problem: traffic. Garbage trucks won't be able to collect all of the garbage, people wont be able to get to work, tourists wont be able to get to attractions, etc. Why do people keep getting stuck in traffic? Intersections. The people will try and find the fastest route to their destination, and if a bunch of people need to go the same way, they will all get stuck at the same roads. There is a simple solution to all of this: Make a city with no intersections. Create a single winding avenue that spans the entire map area. People will not stop until they reach their destinations, meaning traffic will not stop, and cars will flow through your city like butter.
[t]http://puu.sh/2hhh8[/t] Such a brave house
I thought RCI stood for Residential, Commerical and Industrial...
I'm sorry, I don't actually play this game... Or any Simcity. Why am I here again?
Are there any tips for converting to a gambling city? No one is going to my casinos.
Are there any tips for converting to a gambling city? No one is going to my casinos.
don't focus on just casinos, get tourist buildings and stadiums, both of which increase your tourism, and more tourists equals more money
https://twitter.com/storybook77/status/311883123040346112 I think they gave up

Never have them connect, and you don't have issues with your service vehicles getting caught in traffic.

They should make turtle speed 1:1 with real time, and then include speeds faster than that. Right now cars are going like 1mph on the slowest speed (but it's faster than real time so it looks like they're going normal speeds)
In Sim City, every day is Groundog Day.
