Anyone got a region i could join in on, EU Or US.
I haven't played since I bulldozed my city. I wanted to wait for the new patch.
Ok bud no worries, will you give me a shout when you start playing again?
Because everyone knows that <5/10 is an angry consumer, and >5/10 is a paid reviewer.
I usually go with the reviews between 4 and 8. Anything lower or higher tends to be fanboyism or angry /v/ people downvoting. It's like when I go on Good Old Games and every single game is 5 stars. :v:
So, is this worth a buy or? I really want to get this game, but I'm not sure if it'd be worth it or not, I have the money. . . Should I? Will anyone let me join their region? Yes? No? Maybe so?

I've played side-by-side with my girlfriend this whole time, and while I've only had a zombie attack and lizard on my minor city, she's had practically one of each (except UFO) on her main. I've also played quite a bit more than her. So yeah, it's pretty random and can be frustratingly frequent at times.
Yes it is.
No it isn't. The game is in a unfinished state.
Time to show you guys my city I've been working on I guess. None of this is optimized/minmaxed or anything like that, I mostly just build cities to fill a niche, style and look I want, and try to keep them actually functioning (which can be harder than you think when you don't run straight towards trade exploitation) First off, here's a shot of downtown Aspen, from the vantage point of the wealthy "Pinewood" district: [t]http://i.imgur.com/oeFXO2k.jpg[/t] Pinewood is the upper class suburbia of the Greater Aspen Area, featuring plenty of mansions and windmills: [t]http://i.imgur.com/ALFL1CD.jpg[/t] Despite that though, Pinewood still has their own bustling downtown as well, for people who don't want to shop and have fun in the busy city of Aspen but wouldn't mind a little more than small shops (the Backwater district of Aspen can be seen in the far distance): [t]http://i.imgur.com/gZiCJ8w.jpg[/t] A view of Pinewood from the river: [t]http://i.imgur.com/lWGMcmx.jpg[/t] Finally a shot of the Greater Aspen Metropolitan Area at sundown, from the rooftop views of the less-wealthy Backwater district, with Pinewood in the distance: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Rx1Za1v.jpg[/t]
No it isn't. The game is in a unfinished state.
No? It's fully functional and well worth the money. They just need to fix the traffic etc.

Find it boring with no one else in the region, you can't export or anything, storage becomes full factory's get closed down it sucks. [editline]15th March 2013[/editline]
lol
Get out you gimp.
About time..
So there's actually a pretty big difference in the rendering pipeline between min and low settings (as you appear to have guessed). Min spec is really designed around getting SimCity to run on as many old machines as possible, while low is the first (and lowest) setting in our 'real' graphics. I'll forward your question along directly to our lead graphics engineer and see if he has a response.

About time..
linky pls.
lol
I'm not lying though? Can you honestly say the game isn't working? I would never have thought the game had the problems it had if it wouldn't have come up like this. of course I find the traffic to be weird etc. But my 37 hours in the game has been awesome.
if your going to post pics please don't use ugly filters this isnt twitter
Did the game just get updated?

i hate how the origin window always opens when i launch the game [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] also an update just went live
So when will I ever need the max amount of space in things like schools? I've hit 220k population and my high school only ever has about 1000 people attending, but I could increase class size by thousands.
RCI is broken, traffic is broken, city sizes are too small, no offline play, shit servers, misleading statistics.
Not broken as in not playable. It just needs fixing. And you can't put small size and no offline play because it's a design choice. Servers are getting better, they have already explained how they calculate statistics.
if your going to post pics please don't use ugly filters this isnt twitter
there are in game filters, you know
RCI is broken, traffic is broken, city sizes are too small, no offline play, shit servers, misleading statistics.
RCI is broken - If you meant these little RCI bars showing what is a demand, I've never looked on them. I was plopping zones based on a worthwhile statistics or my long term plans. Traffic is broken - yes it is and they said they are fixing it right now, I'm very happy for that. City sizes are too small - I don't have problem with that, at least not that much. It forces on me to do different approaches each time, so I can't have totally self sufficient city, which is BORING as fucking FUCK (Ofcourse you can have self sufficient city, but not jack of all trades). No offline play - I don't care about that, I'm playing at my home, where I have internet 24/7 . I can create private region and mess around in it. I don't care if it would be offline or online 24/7 with live spectators. misleading statistics - Population count, that's what you mean? It was fixed by community. I don't really care about it anyway, I wouldn't really mind if a single agent represents 10 simulated sims. I'm totally fine with it, as long as game is smooth and doesn't do what Dwarf Fortress does to super computers after a while.

Otherwise they would have added a offline mode because its 100% possible since they have the source code to the game.
RCI is broken, traffic is broken, city sizes are too small, no offline play, shit servers, misleading statistics.
Why do you come to this thread exclusively to shit talk the game? I mean this thread is for people who enjoy the game so i dunno if you're trying to push your views on people or try to convince them that the game is evil or something but why bother?
Yeah, no it definitely was not a design choice. They said themself it was something they wanted to build the new SC5 around.

He asked for opinion. [editline]15th March 2013[/editline]
They said the game was built around being online though? They said themself it was something they wanted to build the new SC5 around.
They said a lot of things? A lot of them turned out to be untrue at release date and they've lied multiple times.
They said a lot of things eh? How many of them turned out to be true at release date.
The guy who played offline said himself its very limited without the emulator soooo? That clearly shows you that they aren't lying when they said its an online game.
