Needs more bridges imho. [editline]16th March 2013[/editline]
General: •Turned regional Achievements back on! •We are now prioritizing games with available slots in the “Join Game” menu in the front end •Update so players will go through the Getting Started Scenario only once. They will see the Play menus when they switch servers •Fix for a gameplay crash •UI improvement: Increased time showing system alerts for readability •Graphics: shader change to improve look of walls and parking lots •It’s now easier to place airport runways •Budget transaction optimization to increase performance •Update of Buffers on buildings to save memory •Performance improvement for lower end machines Servers: •DB performance upgrades to increase response times
new patch!
Time for another attempt, then. No more slowdowns on menus and pop-ups and tabs! I can finally play SimCity! :v:
They really need to fix the commuting between cities, it's frustrating when a town has 10 k citizens and you're next to it with a big industry and barely anybody is commuting.
Is there still an active FP Region i can join?
Yes, you have to be very careful to not have an intersection that is prone to stopping near your highway entrances. Otherwise that will happen. This video was already posted before, but it was enormously helpful in managing traffic. Traffic has gotten noticeably smarter in this patch, but all of this still applies if you want to manage traffic as well as possible.
Couldn't hear a word of what he was saying. Is it that hard to turn down the in-game volume?
Not sure traffic is quite worked out yet... Edit: And yes, that is a sinkhole tunnel off in the background...
They said the traffic fix's aren't in yet, yes
nope
Really? it is on mine.
They said the traffic fix's aren't in yet, yes
Yeah I've noticed they haven't said anything officially about it. So it looks like I might be full of shit and placebo. Maybe The AI already did what I tested earlier or something. I've been paying close attention to traffic and I notice that given enough warning (i.e. a jam doesn't happen literally right in front of them), and an easily accessible detour, they do seem to try to avoid traffic. I'm so confused. There's also the issue of making sure your roads are laid out so that there actually are meaningful diversions to get to a busy destination. Having real traffic on the roads fundamentally changed the way you laid cities out in SimCity. Before it was all just statistics and a fake calculation. Now, you can have completely legitimate traffic problems and have to be careful to make sure your roads provide the access they need to.
so i keep getting "your city is not processing errors and it rolls back to a previous load" what the fuck does that even mean ...
added a few of you guys. need a new region to join. message me whenever you get on.
Add firstblooduk, if i may join you guys.
This was going to be a joke region but I'm really starting to like it. I have my main downtown city, which is entirely residential and commercial. It's right next to a suburban town that is providing 100% of the power and water for the main city. [t]http://i.imgur.com/UUY9in5.jpg[/t] All hail the atom. [t]http://i.imgur.com/QFXDnBB.jpg[/t] I like the Whitewater Valley region a lot because all the cities are very close together. You get a much better feeling that they are actually connected because in addition to the proximity, the highways actually run right through the cities themselves.

How the hell? I need to buy this game.

I love Simcity, but I am aware of the serious flaws with this game. Should I buy it now, wait or not at all? Just rate my post agree or disagree. Thanks.
Jumping on Antarctica. Gonna sim the hell out of some cities. [editline]16th March 2013[/editline] I went full retard starting my city, whoops. And it's in a region with other people. At least I have a coal mine and trade going!
The northwestern section of the Antarctic Yolopolis region has started constructing a Space Center great work. Edit: I can supply alloy and computers, but someone else is going to have to start shipping barrels of fuel over there.
I finished my Solar Farm greatwork last night, I will never want for power again. 1500MW per city is available to me. I can now laugh at all the disasters because they can never destroy my power plant.
I only got ore and coal :(
Same for me.

Thanks.
It's going to stay at $60 for a very long time. Grab it now so you get that free game on Monday, but the free game may suck
Really? it is on mine.
They replaced Cheetah with medium speed. You can still click and stuff but it won't make a difference.
Whoever owns Sovngarde in Yolopolis i noticed you were bankrupt so i sent you 350k.
It's going to stay at $60 for a very long time. Grab it now so you get that free game on Monday, but the free game may suck
Wait, if I buy it now I'll get the free game on monday? I wanted to buy Simcity but I wasn't sure, now I guess I'll buy it since I'm also getting a free game, bad or not. I thought there was some sort of limit to when you could get that free game, like only with Simcity purchases dating before X date.
Idk look it up before you buy it then
Wow what bullshit lol Plop a stadium host my first event. Don't have tons of money afterwards (50k, -2k per hour or so... thank you recycling center from making sure I stay even) LITTLE DO I KNOW that apparently stadiums use up like 10X more power when they are doing an event, which makes sense but I always thought everything used up a set amount of power per building. So the power goes out halfway through the event that I paid $150k for and obviously I lose everything lol It's the superbowl all over again, except in this case everyone get a refund :dumb:

Also it's a little irrating that I don't have enough room for a garbage dump on my city so I just offload all my services on my other city that has a shit ton of incinerators and garbage trucks .... but because my train depot that I get all my tourists from is on the other side of the map from the (always congested) highway entrance it never gets the trash taken out. So I have a "massive overflowing trash problem" and everyone is angry about trash all the time... when the only building that has trash (and according to my data layer isn't overflowing yet) is my train depot that the garbage trucks never bother hitting lol
