But EU East is the closest
;_;
Are you all just saying random shit or are these servers any good for the UK?
It doesn't matter in the slightest, it's all cosmetic names.
Go with Antarctica, it's been working wonderful.
Ok, new problem. can't invite my friend because he isnt a 'Sim city friend'
When he starts it up it just says 'L***** is now playing'
But doesnt say simcity, so apparently he isnt playing it when he is. Any fix?

You need to be on the same server when invites happen. So when you create your region, tell him be on Antarctica.

I did it with antarc and they got in, but when they joined my region it didnt show as them claiming a city when they did.
Aaaaand now invites aren't coming through despite being on the same server
Man this sucks

It's not updating instantly, try go into your city and to main menu and see if it has been updated.
So are we getting our free game tomorrow? I hope it's not Crysis.
I'm guessing it's SimCity4, or another very old game. I highly doubt they will give out a modern game.
What happens when you pump all of the available water out of your city, how can i get more?

it'll probably be the failed medal of honor, seems they tack on that game to every promotion ever
-snip-
Oh fuck how do I deal with air pollution I spammed industry this aiiint good
This game really boils my piss at times. One factory upgraded too quickly and caught on fire. My measly little fire station has no Hazmat trucks. I refinance all my bonds to make a large fire station, then realise I can't make a special truck because I don't have a university.
Part of me can't help but feel this game is a bit broken.

Same and also research at least one project at the university first.
Don't large fire stations start with one Hazmat truck standard?
And I also figured out how to get fuel on a map with no oil deposits. Simply buy a fuel powerplant. That'll give you access to fuel storage lots in a supply depot. Add lots, destroy the powerplant, and then set fuel to import. Fuel does cost a shitload to import, though.

Which is funny because in order to start resarch you need to get an upgrade for your university which literally requires an insane amount of students to attend class at the same time. which is impossible unless you have a city with a huge population, which is largely only possible with very low wealth, as I'm pretty sure high wealth sims don't even bother with education at all since they are already high wealth. Not to mention you get more sims with low wealth.
In every city I've made so far I've only been able to 200~ people at my uni, even though I need fucking 1000 at the same time to even start any kind of research. I'd have to build a uni in a town with no money, nothing but massive industry and a massive population crammed in low-wealth high density buildings in order to get people actually going to uni.
Maybe the problem is I've built grade school, high school, community college, etc so according to my city I already have "education" and so therefore they don't need any more. If that's the case, that's fucking stupid. I figured it was like real life where you can't suddenly start going to uni unless you are high school/community college educated first.

I think only kids go to grade and high school. College and university are for 'adults'. Not sure if high wealth citizens go to university, but I'm pretty sure medium wealth does.

Well there's your problem.

Speaking of this, while it probably wouldn't add too much to gameplay, the fact that there's no religious buildings/aspects in SimCity is a bit strange to me.
I don't think grade schools are needed, once I built a high school no one attended the grade school anymore, I ended up demolishing it and nothing bad happened, everyone's still educated.
It's weird, I ended up with two grade schools, a high school, community college AND a university (engineering, science), and people are still bitching about a lack of schools. Fucking simcity logic, man.

I thought when it came to them speaking about a game from EA's catalogue meant you'd get to pick your own game?
Got a few mansions now... The people in them are complaining about needing parks (despite them ALL having a formal park within two houses, and others saying neighbours are decreasing land value
wat
this is the last page right?

Check the land value screen. Maybe you need parks with a bigger area of influence. Not sure about the neighbors thing. Maybe they're polluting?
Something unrelated, I just found a video of a guy with some pretty cool tips for making high population towns and dealing with traffic.

(Also what am I doing wrong?)
You need to rezone. You need more workers, and more places for people to work.
Any suggestions on what to build?
Did they say when traffic patch would be in?
