To be honest, most of the complaints about characters are pointless.
If a character is shallow and just a mountain of muscles, he's made for 13 year olds (Phoenix, Master Chief and so on), if he's got emotional depth and is affected by what he does then he's a whiny emo bitch (FF characters). Same goes with facial features, people criticize Gears of War for being full of scarred sweaty muscle mountains and at the same time they criticize FF for having characters without beards or any facial imperfection.

There are lots of games that have characters in the middle-ground. Games like [i]Metal Gear Solid[/i] and [i]Uncharted[/i], as well as [i]Half-Life[/i] and [i]Brothers in Arms[/i]. More believable characters are the best.

I had one major problem with MGS4. At the point in the game where your running after Naomi, right after Laughing Octopus you find random objects Naomi had left behind to give you a trail to follow her. One of these objects is her bra. Now obviously she doesn't wear one the entire game so why the hell would she just carry one around? Fucking plot holes.
