That's the point of AP assassins. They are monsters at ganking and teamfights of course they can't be strongest mid-laners too.

When you play Kat you can usually farm and harass at the same time. Q the creeps and the enemy, shunpo in, W, walk out. Or you can walk in and shunpo out. Just make sure you don't take free damage.
I actually really like Kat's laning phase, but people tell me that's weird.
Every time I see that QualityPlayer guy stream he just ignore his whole team and split push, but when his team lose teamfights due to 4 v 5, he blames them and flames them.
I really wanted to try Quinn top but the way she is right now makes me not want to buy her :(
