When/if Nunu top hits tournament level play it will be nerfed by the next patch or two.
It's s really dumb pattern Riot has going on now.
Nunu top is annoying but I feel he just becomes a blood boil bot late game.

him and cho are the only people who can not only equal yorick's sustain, but probably force him out of lane as well.
however if neither kills the other pre level-6, this will be an incredibly dull lane. Yorick will harass and Nunu will sustain back up, Nunu will harass and yorick will sustain back up.

Kite the ghoul(s) and then try break los with bushes if you can, if you get far enough from creeps the ghoul(s) will just stand idle there without doing anything if they can't chase you anymore.
Went 7/2 as Veigar during the laning phase because I was destroying Swain and ganking like crazy. But the rest of my team just feeds and we lose anyway. :(

Polarbear's suggestions are pretty much flawless.
If you're up against somebody that can't harass you much/you've gotten used to cho, you could start doran's ring. It's risky, but worth it since you can spam ruptures on your enemy after killing minions wave (at around level 3, you get 8 mana per kill with doran's + carnivore.)
Again, it's risky because you could get bursted down to HP whereas you have to retreat and forfeit XP, farm and feasting capability, so only do it if you have complete faith that you can handle your lane.

It takes a little bit of skill, but she does surprising amounts of damage if you play her right. I've completely dominated Nidalee top and Ahri mid using a tanky build. It's extremely fun and feels rewarding when you actually do kill people.

his ult is pretty useful too if you can keep track of the enemy's CC so you don't get interrupted half a second into it
as a 450ip champ, he fits into the "easy to play, harder to play well" category
Top AP Nunu is free lane win, but too bad he's useless as fuck late game.
his ult is so useless in 99% of teamfights it's laughable
I imagine he's doing more for the teamfights compared to support nunu though.
(this is assuming the top lane ap nunu has some tankyish items)
