Ok, I'm off to bed. Don't expect a quick reply if you PM me. Bye!
Does this happen to anyone else? Pigs/sheep keep spawning in the ground. :raise:
Sometimes it happens to me, I think it might be a problem will loading saves. Hit them and they will return to the surface
It's hard as hell finding good mines full of ore, so far I managed to get one that had plenty of various materials however I mined it all out. Now I'm in need of more ore for different projects, such as iron to make a giant railway. Are there any ways of knowing what materials are in the ground?

It's strange, but at least I have more bacon than I know what to do with.
I figured we should work together, here's what I got done. http://i49.tinypic.com/2ltlqc4.jpg
Even if it's pretty much just scaling textures down to 50%, that's already looking pretty nice: By the way, if anyone else wants to try I can upload my modified ij.class file and offer a couple quick instructions. Then you can test out 64p (and maybe have more luck with 128p) in the standalone client.
On older versions of the game hitting f would allow you to see through the ground. Your best bet is to use cheats
Eh cheats for these kinds of games ruins them. I'll just stick to the good old hit or miss method. I used the level previewer to locate some potential hotspots so I'll try them out.
Sorry it took so long, I had to dig it out from Daijitu's post a few threads back.
:v:

I pretty much just spliced 4 normal sized tiles together, oh well.
For all of you making "HD" texture packs, make sure that when 4 blocks are placed in a square that they flow together. Also, I personally would prefer a texture pack that is based off of the default textures, not just done from scratch. I'd like to keep it vanilla, but higher resolution vanilla. Also don't forget to PM me your Paypal e-mail
Ok, getting above 32p: 1. Download this file, save as ij.class. 2. Open minecraft.jar (located in %appdata%/.minecraft/bin) with 7-zip or WinRAR. 3. Drag and drop the new file in. 4. Delete the META-INF folder. This is very important. 5. Play! (In the standalone client) If you want to play in the browser again or don't care about such higher quality textures, just delete the bin folder and the normal jars will be redownloaded.

This has been bugging me ever since the FP city spam started- What the fuck good is a house? Like, why are people planning on making housing at all? There's no real essential functions a building needs beyond an eight block floor space interior for a large chest, workbench, forge, lava pit (disposal), a torch on a wall, and the remaining room to move. Even if beds were implemented, it would barely go up in size, probably only by two/three blocks. You can say it's so people can have places of their own to customize...but isn't that the entire purpose of the city? Somebody wants a little place of their own they'll probably build some random structure in the city proper, not specifically a house, and it'll likely contain all the same amenities during and after construction. I mean, it's eight blocks, assuming every building won't have everything a person needs in it is asinine.
someone please do a 32p texture pack that involves more than tiling the existing textures...

People want to pretend its like a real city, and Notch will probably add some bed function and others. They also want a place to put their belongings, crafting stuff, and whatever other blocks Notch adds.
Holy shit diamond!!
You've had Minecraft for like, a day or two? I've had it for months and I've never found diamond. :saddowns:
I guess it's good to have plenty of space in case you're going to have a lot of chests, or want to use your house as a meeting place.
It's a city. You want a meeting place, there's undoubtedly going to be a central area/hall/lobby/street/whatever.
Place to call your own and to keep your stuff in.
You could do that with a barracks, if that's all you needed. And my main point was that people would do this with whatever they made, regardless of whether or not it was technically a "house." It might very well be a shrine or a signaling post, it'll still have everything the owner needs to live in it one way or the other.
Roleplay.
Well, that makes sense, though it's also a bit disappointing. You'd figure a bunch of creative folk could transcend the traditional trappings of an urban center, but if people want to pretend they're average joes in blockword, w/e.
And whatever the fuck that red shit is!!
It feels good when you find diamond doesn't it?
