Let's say you have a train going at 80 miles an hour. A car going at 40 would still be able crash into it. However, the speed of light is totally insurmountable, so it doesn't even matter that light would theoretically be able to hit an object going faster than light. Also, matter is not a dimension. There is some debate over whether time is a dimension, but I had no idea what you were talking about with this matter dimension.
