I was excited about this origionally but not so much now. It was origionally a linear but kinda freeroamish game with co-op. Now it's supposedly a 100% linear game with no co-op. No idea why they changed direction so much.
The "sexual themes" thing is probably for some stuff like "I FFFUKED YO MAMA" or other taunts. Maybe there's whores at the settlements.

Expect the story to make up for it. Linear games are not always bad.. as long as they execute the right way and according the the reviews the story is great.

Yes, but we must wonder if it will be awesome but 6 hours long and has no replay value.
Even though I'm against getting it because it's linear, I'm actually tempted to get it now due to the awesome story and atmosphere.
It's funny that people suddenly have an instant dislike of any game not touted as 'free-roam'.

Call of Duty franchise?
All great games, and none are properly free-roam.
Free-roam games almost always sacrifice an incredible story for their free-roam features, and Metro is doing the opposite.

I just want to know if I'm getting what I pay for. To me $50 is a lot of money so I don't want to fling it out the window for 6 hours of "good story".

Fair enough. I too hope that it's longer than 6 hours, and I'll be doing everything I can to make it last as long as possible (hardest difficulty, searching everywhere, doing everything, taking my time and playing over multiple days).

Multiple endings and a good/evil system like in Mass Effect.
Most reviews spoke of 8 hours for a play through, probably on medium difficulty.

Well I know there is a good/bad system that affects different endings but it will probably be up to the player to decide whether or not to play it again.

Sorry, but X-Ray sucks. It actually from a technological standpoint is a bad engine. Pretty old core with some next-gen features tacked on.

Back is right, sure the atmosphere is glamorous, but the combat in most respects is shit. Animations are clunky and look bad, and the physics are terrible. The atmosphere of STALKER can be retained and used on ANY engine, it isn't xray that makes the game.
