So fellas, what do you think:
I'm in the UK and managed to pre-order on steam before they made it unavailable via steam.
I currently have a countdown of 6 hours. I believe you Americans have it already but the Eu/UK release isn't until friday?
Who here thinks that I will be lucky and get it in 6 hours or who thinks that 6 hours will pass and I'll get a 'released friday' message..
I'm hoping the former.
I'm certainly hoping the former too, as I have the same countdown.
I'm certainly hoping the former too, as I have the same countdown.
Ooh, will be interesting to see then. Been looking forward to this!!
Good weapon makes the best partner!
These trailers and everything are making me hope that this game can run on my computer!! D:
So I have
i5-750
4 gigs ram
5850
1920x1080
Will I be able to play this on maxed out DX11? I'm planning on getting a second 5850 very soon also.
Yeah probably
Ugh, I've already ran into a problem and I haven't even gotten in-game.
I set the resolution to my natural res, 1920 x 1080, but apparently it set the refresh rate to something else because it won't show. Of course, it switched back automatically but after alt-tabbing out to find a solution I had to close it manually, and now it's back out of range.
The user.cfg doesn't affect anything either, anybody know if there's a config file that actually works?
[editline]09:57AM[/editline]
I just uninstalled the game and reinstalled, did absolutely nothing. I really wanted to play this too...
Try this.
Browse to your this folder in your Steam path:
\Steam\userdata\(user id)\43110\remote
With your own user id.
In that folder you should find the Metro user.cfg file that the steam cloud saves locally. Open it and change the fullscreen value to off, then save the file.
Completely quit and restart Steam.exe so it grabs the updates from the user.cfg, and launch Metro.
It should launch in windowed mode. Go to the options menu, and change the Direct X value to 10, accept and quit.
Open the user.cfg file again, and change the fullscreen value back to on. Completely restart Steam again and launch the game.
So apparently you can't buy the Steam version in the UK anymore, you have to buy a retail version and then activate it on Steam.
At least people are finally realising what I said all the way back in the thread was true ;)
Why would they stop selling it in one country on STEAM?
Can someone post some compairison screens between DX9, DX10, and DX11 with this thing?

No idea, but I asked the official Twitter and they said it wasn't up to them.
Ahhh, shit! My singlecore processor has finally been completely outdated as far as minimum requirements go. Time to get a new computer.
I hate you guys and your new Metro video game :(
Just saying because I wanna start earning money again at my summer job before I start spending cash

I too have no idea, but it seems to be the case.
I thought this will be released on Friday? Is it already out :buddy:

textures were being weird so they weren't crisp in the dx10 or d11 shots.

This looks... Fantastic.

I don't know shit though, has it been released or is it just a demo you're talking about?
Despite this game not being a sequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R, there's definitely references to the previous games.
All I know is the mood is the same and some sounds are recycled.

I like the one I heard when the guy says that those 'Stalkers' who go out searching on the surface are madmen :P

Yeah, I laughed over that one. :D I also found a whole new respect for anomalies.

It has nothing to do with STALKER
[editline]06:11PM[/editline]
Except that it's Post-Apocalyptic FPS

Sorry, I guess it wasn't enough for you to know that the guys topside are referred to as "stalkers" because they scavenge the cities for pre-war materials and the existence of anomalies in this game as well.

I knew that, want to know how? I've read the book several YEARS ago and i can tell you, it's nothing like STALKER, not in the book at least.

I guess you're incapable of reading. Here, let me break it down for you. A reference doesn't mean that it was related in terms of being a sequel, it's simply referring to some of the things in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Are you content now or will you keep bitching?
Crashes when I click the .exe, goes to a black screen and crashes.
Fuck. <_<
