Got done playing the first hour and I must say it's actually pretty fun except a few things
-the assrapingly bright lights
-when you're shooting you can't see shit due to flash and smoke in front of you
-NPC's are a bit :downs:
Other then that the game plays phenomenally and it looks amazing both on DX9 and DX10 even on low settings. I can run at High on DX10 and get a solid 35~ fps through out.

my computer sucks so I need to turn off somethings that the ingame menu won't let me. shit like ambient occlusion, and the particle effects that the presets only turns down to normal.

It looks nothing like Stalker, this is a completely different game visually. Stalker to me is so.. so, I don't know it's not very -nice- looking. Atleast to me. Metro 2033 looks like incredible even on low settings. Stalker is a wide open game space where as Metro is a very close and cramp and frantic game.
I don't see any resemblance at all.

As soon as the guy jumps over the hole at the very start, the framerate drops like a stone to 1 or 2 FPS - unplayable.
Also, it tells me I don't have the latest drivers when I literally just installed them.

Well the thing that strikes me as odd is that I can buy it from any retail in the UK and it's a steamworks game so..it will be having to unlocked on steam anyway yet you can't buy it off steam itself.
Also I see on the game website that you can buy the downloadable version from them which would indicate using steam.

I have to run it on Medium, with no PhysX and it's still not a great frame-rate...

4GB DDR3 RAM
nVidia 9800GTX+
I would have thought I could run it on Medium with huge FPS at the very least...
Other than that, it's a pretty awesome game so far.
So I went not at school to play this, now I tried everything to get it to work and it simply crashes on startup. FUHHH :argh:

I used VPN and played up until [sp]the bandit station[/sp] and that was pretty fun.
I can wait 'till Friday now.
I love the option to take a stealthier route on each level, then disregard it and kill everything. I really should start conserving my ammunition.
