Game copy from GAME has been dispatched now..just waiting for the steam refund.
Lucky fuck. I have to run it on Medium, with no PhysX and it's still not a great frame-rate... i5-750 4GB DDR3 RAM nVidia 9800GTX+ I would have thought I could run it on Medium with huge FPS at the very least... Other than that, it's a pretty awesome game so far.
It isn't really luck lol, it is just having a nice computer. But the frames do often drop down to 13 or so when there is a lot going on. Still a beautiful game. i5-750 8 gigs ram 2x 5870s in crossfire I had to install Physx on my computer to make the game even start, which is fucking stupid considering I have ATI cards. I am thinking of lowering a few settings, but I don't see a way of lowering individuals settings?? I would like a more consistent frame rate...
Hopefully they release actual video options soon. :(
people are already finished...? how long is the game anyways
About 8 hours or so from what I hear. I'll prob just rent it or something, spending $50 on something I'd only spend 8 hours on isn't my idea of good value for my money, even if it's good
Fuck, fuck, fuck! I broke my Metro 2033!
Yeah those cracks won't be easy to get out the screen...har!
Does anyone know a cheat or trainer that would give some gasmask filters? Because i am stuck with 0 filters and i have to go outside , and there is no merchants that sell filters before going outside.
Fuck, fuck, fuck! I broke my Metro 2033!
You need a new gas-mask.
Oh, that's what I've been meaning to ask! If you're wearing a gasmask does it actually affect your visibility? I'm hoping it does
Yes, and when your filter starts getting clogged you breath much more heavily, and it starts steaming up.
Yes, and when your filter starts getting clogged you breath much more heavily, and it starts steaming up.
Oh wow, awesome. I'm getting the game via ftp from a friend just so I can play it until release lol. Then I'll just transfer my save file over if possible. I currently own 2 copies of this game now until steam refund me so I don't care lol. I just want to see what the game's like/how it handles and on what settings. I need to feed the habit! :D
yay its been dispatched from game today

I like that about Game, they almost always get stuff to you the day before release.
I want this for the immersion.
Did you crack the game?
No, only the gasmask.
I'd really like to know some gasmask tips. You can either press G to change the filter (rarely helps at all with the heavy breathing), or you can hold it down to take it off and put back on with a new filter, which helps a bit more. But it seems that there is no way to get the meter back to green, apparently.
I hate everyone who compares it even slightly to STALKER. Why? Because it's totally different, the graphics, weapons, gameplay, everything is different. About the game, I have to say it plays very good, I don't know what people are saying about the shooting being bad, because it's good to me. One thing I love is hove you can see when the weapon slowly runs out of ammo. I also love how looting is done, no menus or anything like that, you just pick stuff from a body, like it's attached to someone and you remove it. On the graphics front it's quite optimized, while still looking gorgeus. I get very playable fps on the "normal" setting. Specs: Geforce 8600 gt AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.80 Ghz (dual core) 3GB RAM
Well, just trying this so far I even get major fps death on dx10 normal settings when the fighting starts, although being able to tweak the grapnics manually would be a lot nicer as I'm sure I could get it to run a lot better. For now going to just run it on Dx9 high/very high.

I bet you're one of those dumbasses who say you can't compare something unless their exactly the same

So they maybe a LITTLE similarity but not really. Also I was finally able to run this game last night. I don't have screens but I was able to play it on Very high on DX10 with about 40 FPS. It looks phenomenal and probably even looks more amazing on DX11.
is metro 2033 open-ended like fallout/stalker or like hl2?
is metro 2033 open-ended like fallout/stalker or like hl2?
read at least the first page of the thread, it's linear like half life 2
well ok then :frown:
why do you keep comparing it to the game's storyline and shit it LOOKS LOOOOKS LIKE WITH YOUR EYES Like stalker like the engine and just the overall feel it is very stalker-esque in fact it's the same engine, is it not? thus explaining why it LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKS like stalker jesus christ
It doesn't look anything like Stalker at all. I've played all three games to no end and I still play them and they're nothing alike. They don't look the same, at all, they just don't it baffles me how anyone can compare them at all. How long is the game?
Pretty long. [editline]03:13PM[/editline] "Da, is very long trip, Comrade."
Well, seems that Dx9 high is what I can run at best for now. Really liking the game though, can't wait until my copy gets here now, still looks great and the atmosphere, the sounds, the people. Really draws you in!
Just going to do alittle thing for people claiming Metro is "just like stalker" or what have you. STALKER: Clear Sky Metro 2033: Any questions?
Is that STALKER picture on highest settings?
